10-29 – Feeling motivated! Decide to deal with a bunch of the little crap I’ve been putting off. Finally setup an Excel spreadsheet listing important switches, H switches, Skill switches, and variables. This way I can keep better track of these things. RPG Maker is not the best at listing this stuff. You might wonder why I’ll need so many… well, this is how I do all the cool dynamic stuff. Such as, making the world react to Aylia’s current attire, or making H-events change based on prior decisions. I’m only in chapter 1 and I already have hundreds of them in place. Man, this would be a bitch to translate—which kind of sucks, cause I could probably sell this game on the Japanese Dlsite…

Oh, and after getting all that organized, I finally fixed the system facesets to accurately reflect the new Aylia face in things like status screen, shops, etc. Good bye old Aylia face, you’ll be missed. Lastly, I redid my message bust common events to how I should have set them up originally. Not sure why I created specific events for each outfit, but it should have been one event with conditional branches. Now, calling message busts should be more efficient, and it should even work for you naughty people who cheese the system to get Aylia to walk around nude… tsk, tsk. Still won’t get any unique dialogue though, and you may miss an event or two (i.e. potato sack pulldown in the prologue).

Go to bed happy.

10/30/15 – Battle system day! Woo… hoo? For some reason, I’m a bit burnt out on the battle system. Open up RPG Maker, stare at the enemy page for a bit, and think, “ugh!” Instead, I open up Flash. Pull up Aylia’s flashing scene I’ve been working on and start drawing. Hmm, don’t love her left boob… reshape it, ahh, much better. Got her body done, dress mostly done, and sketching her face now. I think she’ll be a bit embarrassed here. Spent the night working on this, got most of it done, but still have her hair to do. Hair takes a long time… maybe I’ll finish this weekend.

10/31/15 – Halloween, whoop, whoop. The only day of the year where it is not creepy to give candy to strange little kids. Carve my pumpkin, dress up the little dude in a costume, grab a beer and trick-or-motherfuckin’-treat baby! SO. MUCH. CANDY!

11/1/15 – WARNING! Started playing Divinity Original Sin: Enhanced Edition. Holy shit is this game fun. And… got jack shit done on the game. Oopsie, heehee.

11/3/15 – Back at it, but Divinity is addicting as hell. If you have not played it, do it. Damn that is a good game. Anyways, Finalizing the Triste stage 1 stuff now. Heh, she is kind of a bitch. And, damn, she is getting pissed at Aylia. Of course, if she wins, she gloats like crazy. Yep, I foresee a quite fun (at least for us) rivalry developing here. Whereas Aylia is baffled by Kira, she is starting to get really competitive with Triste. She still can’t believe she agreed to that bet…

I think I’ll work on the Triste artwork tomorrow.

11/4/15 – Touch up the first Triste CG. God I love that picture. Still my favorite. Start working on the second Triste CG, which was sketched and flat colored with no expression yet. Hehe, she’s pretty pissed. Can’t wait to draw the third, which is a series of pictures, and will probably be my favorite scene in chapter 1. I’d tell you about it, but then I’d have to kill you!

11/5/15 – And… Battle system day again. Not going to neglect my duties this time. Time to setup one of the mine enemies. Yep, there will be two H enemies in the mines in chapter 1. Although… not really sure how I’m going to have one of them “finish”… Going to have to think about that a bit. Oh well, let’s sketch the grouping cut-in. Mmm, groping… Got the cut-in sketched and flat colored. Figured I’d do a zoomed in boob shot for this one, something a bit different.

Bam, slam, thank you ma'am. Not the most productive week, but at least got some stuff done. Decided to put a limit on Divinity, otherwise, I might just disappear into the world of gaming :-). Yea... I love computer games. Still, I'm excited about this weekend and next week. Things are nice and settled down at work, I'm thinking I'll have more time to work on the game than I've had in months. Will be interesting to see how much I can actually get done. I'm hoping to have the entire stage 1 of chapter 1 finalized and be well into stage 2. IF that happens, look out world, Aylia's Story may actually see a chapter 1 release in our lifetimes.

@^ Me too. The new RPG MV distracts me a bit. But deep inside my heart, I'm interested in this game much more than the RPG MV.

I feel like it's been forever since I heard about this game and I'm still waiting for chapter 1. I'm not complaining, I just want to point out that I'm more hyped for this game than for Fallout 4 and SE planets combined, so I'm patiently waiting untill you finish the first big part of this masterpiece. Maybe you need some additional perv... Beta testers to find bugs in your game? Or alpha testers? Maybe someone that would look at some drawings to check if your drawing skill is still high and Aylia's tits are still big and round?

TheByQ

Thanks! I'm up to 8 invites, two more to go! Woohoo!

No problem, I'll be posting another journal tonight. Going to try and make Thursdays, dev journal day and than pop other little updates in between.

YummyTiger Gaming

You are old :-). My little forum banner will soon be changed to say 2016 as the year when this game is fully released, and I intend to meet that. If you can hold out another year, you should get to enjoy the game in all its full glory.

YummyTiger Gaming

Yea, I've toying with a few ideas. I think I still have time. Plus, none of those tier rewards kick in until pledged updates begin. I do plan on setting up the system while I work on chapter 2, so that when they do kick in, everything is rolling. That means, the polls will start up, I'll start doing random drawings among 20+ supporters (already have selected a few), I'll finally sketch and post Lynne, etc. Lots of stuff to do!

YummyTiger Gaming

ALSO ps, you should probably figure out an 8k patron tier so it doesn't just say Undecided. You're only 1.7k away...

thswherizat

Oh jeez man you have 666 patrons. Is that even legal? Any chance still of a November release? I had my birthday recently and just feel so old, maybe i shant survive to see the release... (The fabulous pity party)

thswherizat

Thanks for the update, YT. Really appreciate it.

InsaneBrain

Excitement levels reaching critical heights! Go YummyT! Go!

Hurr

Well, never got too into Osawari, but it now thinks you invited me, even if I'd first started it up before you mentioned it here.

Aetrun

Yes, I'm positive it would do fine on the Japanese DLsite. Have you played many of the games on the Japanese DLsite? Most are a few hours long with 5-9 H-scenes and a template-based clothing system. If I end up completing the game that I want, it'll be more complete than nearly any Japanese indie game I've played from DLsite, and I've played a few hundred. The kicker is that it'd need to be translated. Plus, I'm offering it for free when completed to the English market, and I'd feel bad charging Japanese players for it.

YummyTiger Gaming

I won't be taking that bet! :-P

YummyTiger Gaming

Thanks for the recommendation. I started Pillars with the White March update, but have not played much. Just got the two people in Gilded Vale. Looks to be a great game, I just have to be careful that ALL my time does not get eaten up :-)

YummyTiger Gaming

We shall see. I'm thinking that may be most people's favorite quest sequence in chapter 1.

YummyTiger Gaming

"She still can’t believe she agreed to that bet…" Aylia had that dress for five minutes and is already betting it away? :P

Solar Pants

If you like Divinity Original Sin, look up Pillars of Eternity. Made by the makers of Baldur's Gate

SuperBunnyBun

$50 says the favorite scene involves tan lines. Mmm, tan lines...

Eromon? The name reminds me of digimon, but I'm doubting that's actually the case. Whatever the game's about, it seems you've managed to curb the playing to the point you've got some game development done as well. You honestly think the game would sell on the Japan markets? Ah, by no means do I mean anything /bad/ by that. I'm just surprised someone considered selling to a non-English market when writing an English-language game, is all. If you think it's good enough, well, all's fine then! You're the dev, you can do as you please.
