The Long Lost Status Update!

Hello everyone!

It's been an insane couple of weeks at work and my progress on the game has suffered from it. Such is the way... in fact, I fly out tomorrow to go on-site and hopefully resolve the issue. Thankfully, I'll still have my trusty Internet so I can still catch me some Eromons in Osawari Island! Hey! Don't judge me...

Anyways, update time, and it is not all bad news. First, I'd like to take a moment to thank my semi-legit team. Balduindrake has agreed to help me out with the scripting on a more regular basis (assuming he doesn't get pulled away), and Pseudolurker has already been a big help editing my piss poor writing. With their help, I'm hoping to get this game development train moving faster than 1mph. The scripting in particular has eaten up a ton of time in the past year.

Second, Aylia's Story is moving along. I did not get to work on it much in the past 10 days or so, but I've got Kira's branch and artwork completely finished for chapter 1. Me being me, I added a couple more CGs as I finalized the dialogue. Wasted time, but I kind of like her barrel searching :-).

I still have plenty to do, but I also hope when I get back I'll have the first completely working h-battle. With Balduindrake's help, I believe I can get it all working as intended and I have the artwork for one enemy finished. I've tweaked things a bit and went back to the drawing board, but I'm really liking how things are shaping up. Battles should be pretty fucking sweet, and will have more to them than most h-games I've seen.

My current goal (and no, this is not a release date) is to have chapter 1 and chapter 2 released to you guys by the end of the year. That would be pushing it, but that is my optimistic goal anyways. If nothing else, for the love of God I better have chapter 1 done by then.

Finally, on that note, I want to talk about pledging for a moment. As you all know, chapter 1 is a non-pledged update. I chose to take this route because I want everyone to have a solid chunk of game to experience before they decide whether funding this endeavor is what they want. Everyone who has pledged up to this point, has basically told me they are very interested in the game and are willing to make that funding decision when the time comes. That is awesome.

Anyways, the point of this rambling is that many people also take into account the length of development when deciding whether to fund something. While my Patreon will only charge supporters when updates are released, the insanely long amount of time I've been working on chapter 1 has probably worried a few people. In this regard, I'd really like for people to focus more on how long it takes me to complete chapter 2 after chapter 1's release as a more accurate example of future development. Even more than that would be chapter 3 when I am working full time, but that would be after a pledge. I don't want people to worry that I'm on pace to produce a chapter a year, because that won't be the case. There has been a steep learning curve to all of this, and time management is just one of those things I've improved upon.

Well, I'll stop the wall of text there. Back to drawing for me!

Looking forward when the the first chapter gets released, story looks interesting for a fanfiction crossover with naruto

Glad to hear it. This is exactly how I feel about it as well. We'll see if it works out that way, but I really hope so. I'll will add that I completely spaced on the Hunter's Quest translation. Not really sure if chapters 1 & 2 done by the end of December is doable if I work on the translation next. But, Chapter 1 and the translation should be doable, then maybe chapter 1 in January.

After chapter 1 most of the scripting kinks (heh kinks) should be worked out right? I feel like once you get the coding problems worked out ch 2 and beyond will be more familiar territory for you like making cgs and story, which will be quicker. So I for one am not worried.

I know, but I don't like people waiting forever either. I'd like for this development business to be a bit smoother than it has been. I'm getting there. As long as I can work that balduindrake guy like crazy the-- oh, hey, what's up balduindrake? :-P

Would be pretty sweet if I could give you chapter 1 by then, we'll see. You've been around since the beginning, which was long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away... (hehehe!)

Cool! I'm told Aigis is their best, but I've only played LoV and this one. Don't have much time for more than one. LoV was pretty lame in the end, but his one seems fun.

While it may take a lot of patience waiting for the release of chapter one (and the following chapters), it's not like anyone can complain you're draining their wallets.

Ahh, another Nutaku gamer! I play Aigis, myself. Haven't tried Osawari Island yet.

My birthday is early November... I guess Pseudolurker isn't such an accurate name anymore eh? I'll show myself out..

Yea, I'm too old school for my own good. Truly, I would have been so much more profitable had I taken an EA approach and released half-assed products :-)

Yea, I like it. I has h-scenes for certain girls and little ecchi scenes for all of them. You can jiggle their boobs, etc. Kind of a fun little side thing. Additionally, it has a x3 experience mode for people who don't have all day to play, which is really nice. The help could be better, but send me any questions you might have or check ULMF which has a nice thread about it. If you do play, here is my shameless friend code plug :-): 63KD0OTFIQ43WQCVGN8R6 Just go to menu-->friend invite to enter the code

wow this Osawari Island looks good ! Does this game has some real H-scenes to it, or it is just Etchi Pokemon like game ?

Angmir

You know, Yummy, you're going about this whole "adding content" thing entirely wrong. When you're only getting paid for updates, you're supposed to go ahead and release a solid, working Chapter One for the world to see - and then update it with new content when you do the paid release for Chapter Two! What's up with this whole "wanting to deliver a quality product" deal? That's so 1950s manufacturing, man.

Hope your work problem gets fixed! Never fun when work takes away from the fun stuff!
