Hello everyone!
I was looking over the activity feed and realized I've been slacking on updates. For shame! I think one of the reasons I fail to update is because I like to give you something to look at when I make an update--yet, I don't want to spoil the game with too many pictures. SOOO, for the next few updates, I'll just post some of my old artwork that never saw the light of day. Maybe I'll even post my old dating simulator game that I started ages ago. It did have a working demo in RenPy :-)
Anyways, meet Cassy. She was born in 2011 for a short visual novel style game about a young man who hires a tutor. Through a series of events, he ends up corrupting the tutor into trading services every time he does well in his courses. Ah, the never boring tutor fantasy! Anyways, the art is terribly mediocre, but hopefully it is still worth lookin' at!
Aylia's Story update: As for the game you all care about, still plugging away. I've finalized the prologue with battles and a heavy dose of dialogue editing (Thanks Pseudolurker for all that work :-) ). I'm fairly confident I have the early battle stuff where I want it, and it should be easier to build upon now. Actually, as I write this I'm realizing I still need to update the music, but that is one of the final pieces.
This week I am focusing on drawing as many of the remaining CGs as I can. If I get tired of drawing, then I'll switch to tweaking the chapter 1 enemies to fit with the battle system. I'm not going to give a release estimate this time around, instead, I think I am just going to keep you guys informed with more frequent updates.
I do have a bit of news to share though. Given that my Patreon has reached $3,200, I am making the dangerous assumption that it will eventually hit $4,000 and I'll be taking this full time. I'm very excited to work on this full time, as I've never had a job I've enjoyed before. Anyways, starting May 10, I'll be officially working on Aylia's Story part-time. You might be thinking, "What the hell is the difference?" Well, the difference is I'll have work hours sectioned off each week for the game, and it will no longer just be a simple hobby that I work on whenever I find some time (which is a big reason for how long things are taking). Starting May 10th, I'll have Tuesdays and Thursdays to work on Aylia's Story for around 5-6 hours (in addition to whatever time I can scrounge up in the evenings\nights). I think this will be a good transition to full time, which will probably happen when I release the first paid update (chapter 2).
Well, as always, thanks for your support. I hope I never take you all for granted, as you guys are funding my dream job, and I am grateful. Now, time to get some more of the game finished!
