Chapter 42 - Full Mutant Gene Points
Added 2024-05-10 12:56:07 +0000 UTCFacing a lake, Han Sen stood still as he locked eyes with a ten-meter-long alligator. The black armor that completely covered the creature made it menacing, and its amber-yellow eyes were even more terrifying up close.
Even though he and the creature were so close to each other, neither of them was moving, as if time had stopped. Knowing that enough time had passed, Han Sen smiled.
"Pst!"
"ROOOAAR!"
With just a small noise, the alligator immediately reacted and attacked the presence it felt beside. This gave it a huge shock, as it had suddenly sensed someone beside it and the instincts reacted faster.
At the same time the alligator attacked, Han Sen's image blurred and three identical figures appeared, each seeming to escape in a different direction. With phenomenal speed and movements, he deceived the creature and made it chase the wrong image.
Appearing above the beast's head, Han Sen attacked with an open palm, hitting the center of the skull.
BANG!
With a ripple caused by the shockwave of his blow, the force that should have been dispersed due to the alligator's high defense passed through and cracked the skull, slightly damaging its brain. But as it wasn't enough, the beast just roared and started rolling on the ground to knock down anyone on top.
Disappearing from the top of the beast once again, Han Sen took advantage of it still being in the rolling process and hit the beast's jaw with his fist. It seemed like his hand had grown and the fist was like an imposing mountain as it struck the alligator.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Unstoppable, Han Sen punched the beast relentlessly, it unable to keep up with what was happening. From the beginning of the fight, it couldn't keep up with the individual attacking it, and couldn't even catch a glimpse of him.
After ten punches, the beast's jaws had already been broken and the fists were now hitting its head. Knowing that only one more hit could kill the beast, Han Sen jumped above its head and pulled his fist back. Still in the air, he punched the beast, a shockwave emanating from his fist and traversing the entire length of its head.
BAAANG!

"Defeating a mutant beast with your own hands is something very interesting..." Han Sen got off the alligator's body and summoned his beast soul that he had gained.
A completely black armor covered him from head to toe, the helmet hiding his face and the hole where the eyes are located emitted a faint amber glow. Unlike the other one he kept with him from the beginning, this one lacked a tail, but in return, it seemed sharper and deadlier if he fought with it.
"I liked it, I'll stick with you." Han Sen saw that the armor matched his cape and, also because he liked the dark color, he decided to permanently change his armor. Although he would have to spend 500 EXP for it, it is a very small number to worry about. As for the Black Spine Crocodile armor, he would leave it for when he is in an aquatic environment, since the tail helped a lot when swimming.
As soon as he finished fighting and checking his equipment, two black dragons came from the sky and tore the alligator in half, each one taking a part. Flying towards the sky in one direction, Han Sen summoned Stormbird and went after them.
Shortly afterwards, they arrived at a crystal-clear lake and next to it seemed to be some kind of makeshift camp made of bones and skin. There was a fire there too, which continued to burn for long hours. And to make the situation even stranger, there were several carcasses of animals, large and small, as well as huge fish bones around this place.
Upon landing at the location, Han Sen saw Drako and Nhil take the alligator's body a little further away and start eating. Looking at the surrounding forest shortly after, he saw a giant panther emerge from there, carrying two creature bodies in its mouth. One appeared to be a type of crab with very sharp and metallic claws, and the other was a fairly long spider. Carefully leaving the two bodies on the ground in front of Han Sen, she returned to the forest and shortly after came back carrying the body of a giant hippopotamus.
"Who would have thought that the lazy one would get so involved in hunting, huh..." Han Sen commented after seeing her lie down to start eating. And he wanted to laugh when he saw she roll her eyes at him.
Picking up the two new mutated creatures, he soon ripped off all the flesh from them and placed it on the fire to roast.
Recalling his days here, Han Sen embarked on a grueling process of intense training and battles, relying solely on his fists. His goal was to maximize Mutant Gene points while improving his martial arts skills without the help of the system. If he relied solely on that to excel, he would eventually become lazy.
He didn't care about doing it with such things that would take a long time to understand, like the [Frost King Sutra] Great Perfection, since that was something that required in-depth study of the technique and years of practice. But he wouldn't spend points to learn how to use Ghosthaunt correctly, and improving in it should be a natural thing. He would only resort to the Upgrade System when he had an excess of EXP and had nothing else to spend it on.
It had been ten days since his routine consisted of training, battling, and eating non-stop, without even needing to sleep. His beasts went through the same thing, as his offer was too tempting to refuse. They basically dominated the Dark Swamp, leaving only the area of the Black Stingers untouched. Even the golden fish from the crystal-clear water pool had long been eliminated.

Unfortunately, there were no other Sacred-Blood species around here besides the Queen of the Black Stingers, so his genetic points remained untouched. But that wasn't a concern, as it wasn't his goal in the first place. Now that he was able to improve the tier of the [Frost King Sutra], this hunt was more than worth it.
Furthermore, Nhil and Bastet leveled up to Level 4 because each of them hunted ten beasts, while Drako, despite being stronger, was the unluckiest and only managed to find eight. And since the agreement was 5 beasts for 2 Levels, the shameless Han Sen simply improved his Level to 5.
Eating only to satisfy himself now, Han Sen wiped his hands and removed all the equipment from his body. As he was already accustomed to getting into a bathtub to do this, he decided to simply enter the crystal clear water pool to improve his Sutra.
Spending 5,000 EXP at once, the energy began to transform Han Sen's body and improve it, increasing his vitality and stamina, as well as his strength and defense. Under the watchful eyes of his Pets, they saw how the lake around him was slowly freezing, with water molecules crystallizing and sticking together on its surface. If before he could kill Primitive creatures with his bare hands, Mutant creatures were no longer a challenge, without counting on all the other stuff. Being strengthened by the energy generated by this technique was an unnatural transformation that the system made the body undergo, supernaturally empowering him.
After some time getting used to it, the lake returned to normal and he reequipped his entire armor set. When he opened his eyes, he saw that Drako, Nhil, and Bastet were already in front of him, waiting for some command.
Smiling at them, his armor began to completely restructure itself, the black pieces adopting a more metallic color and the helmet having a better function of covering the head. The amber eyes also had a slit resembling the menacing eyes of a predator. After the transformation was complete, he checked if everything was okay before summoning Stormbird again.
"My disciples!" Han Sen had an excited look on his face, taking a deep breath. He pointed to the forest and smiled.
"It's time for the Hunting Festival to begin!"
