Chapter 41 - Group Formation & Dark Swamp

Han Sen was walking through the streets of Steel Armor Shelter while pondering about a few things. After waking up yesterday, he researched two locations that were crucial for gene point growth, as they were dangerous and unexplored. Dark Swamp and Devil Desert.

With a already good amount of mutant gene points, he knew that a trip to any of these locations could easily max out the gene points. And in this way, he could reach a new level of strength and start hunting even more ruthlessly than he already was.

“I have to remember to check my Fitness level. I never cared much about it, but I have to know how I fit into the numbers.” Han Sen already knew very well what his strength level was, but he didn't know how Fitness was classified, and therefore didn't know how much he had.

His current level of strength could easily defeat everyone in the Steel Armor Shelter, and even Xue Longyan (the Jadeskin guy) in his full power was not comparable to him. In addition to his martial arts, both previous and current experiences have enabled him to fight people much stronger than him from the beginning.

And if he had 0 Mutant Gene and Sacred-Blood points, he would still be able to defeat a primitive beast with his own hands due to the enhancements of the [Frost King Sutra]. With the amount he had now, he could easily fight a Sacred-Blood beast and kill it with a little effort. Add his equipment to the equation, and he could dominate the Sanctuary if removing the Super Beasts. Unless a supreme God appears with infinite Hyper Gene Arts, he would be safe…

Han Sen yawned while heading towards the exit. He hoped not to run into anyone, but fate had other plans. He saw Lin Beifeng waiting at the gate, who immediately approached him.

"Brother Han, it's been a few days since you last came back!" Lin Beifeng smiled as he approached him, "I've been reorganizing myself during these few days in order to hunt with you! I've already obtained some useful Beast Souls!”

"And who said I would go hunting with you?" Han Sen raised an eyebrow at his mobile piggy bank. As much as the guy was enthusiastic, he wouldn't share the same excitement.

"Wha..." Lin Beifeng felt his heart break a little, a tear falling from his eye. But he was smarter, "I said I would hunt for you, my brother! Where you're going must be a very dangerous place, so I'll abstain from going. After all, we need to organize our group, right?”

"Beifeng, you know I'm just kidding with you." Han Sen saw that the guy almost cried with his reply and lightly tapped his shoulder, "We are friends, so I consider you enough to play like this. Know that it's just my way of making fun.”

"We are brothers, Han Sen!" Lin Beifeng laughed embarrassedly, as he truly felt hurt by his rude response. But now that he knew he did it regularly, it became normal. In fact, he wanted his savior to treat him with friendship as well.

"And about your idea, I really liked it. Since you enjoy giving money to others, start forming a hunting team and don't charge anything. Ask for Qin Xuan and Fist Guy's help on my behalf and tell them that I accept the proposal to form a group, but I have a hunt to do now." Han Sen knew that sooner or later he would end up doing it anyway. He could only take advantage of the opportunity and let Lin Beifeng take care of everything.

"Don't worry, brother! A mission given is a mission accomplished! When you come back, I will already have the biggest group in Steel Armor Shelter!" Lin Beifeng felt excited about what Han Sen said. Just the thought of starting to gather a large group and go on hunts was very thrilling. He felt a bit traumatized by what happened last time, but he trusted his brother Han.

"Great. Feel free to use my name to spread the popularity of the group, but under no circumstances should you gather a group full of snakes. Ask Fist Guy for help with that, he has more contacts with honest people. Also, keep an eye out for anyone named Gu Qing, and any wealthy young person who wants to be part of a hunting group, they can also join."

Remembering certain things, and knowing that Lin Beifeng was terrible at judging character, he gave his instructions. As for Gu Qing, he was someone who almost died at the hands of Son of A Used Toilet Paper in the novel, and he seems to have good potential.

"Yes, brother! Now go hunting, I have many things to do in your name!" Lin Beifeng could already feel an itch in his hands to spend money and resources on this. And now that he knew he could use Han Sen's name, he was even more excited. This guy was a rising star in the Shelter and there was no one who hadn't heard of the Super Novice.

"You are a good brother, Beifeng!" Han Sen lightly patted his back before he left. As soon as he exited the Shelter, he walked a little further before summoning the Stormbird and flying towards the hunting ground.

'Although it is tedious and unnecessary to lead a group, the formation of a force within the Sanctuary is more than necessary if someone wants to dominate it. Gathering information, spreading gene points, and going on huge hunts are just a few things that can only be done in large groups.' Han Sen was perched on the Stormbird in a relaxed position, thinking to himself about what he had started to do.

Groups within Shelter were not only meant to put burdens on their leaders. In addition to controlling the resources that come in and out, the organization of strength and knowledge becomes much more developed than operating alone. Since not everyone has the necessary power to do things on their own like him, these groups serve to drive the growth of humanity, and therefore are always encouraged by the Alliance.

And besides, if he becomes a group leader, his name will resonate both in the Sanctuaries and in the Alliance. This means that he would have less trouble getting things he wanted, since most, if not all, of the leaders of large groups will become Aristocrats when they evolve. This is a guarantee of power and potential in itself, and people will have more respect.

While thinking about it, suddenly he felt that the altitude of the flight was decreasing and knew that he had probably already arrived near the place. Getting up, he saw how he was approaching a swamp, the large amount of trees and the robust amount of leaves completely obscuring its ground. That's why it was called Dark Swamp, because you couldn't practically see anything inside.

Landing on the ground, he called the Stormbird back to the Sea of Souls and summoned Drako, Nhil, and Bastet. The three beasts appeared in front of him, already in their Battle Modes. Despite consuming more energy, they did not seem willing to revert to their cute appearances in Pet Mode.

"Good morning to all of you." It had been a long time since he had seen them, so he greeted them properly.

"Roar~!" x3. The three of them seemed to be lazy while roaring, with Bastet even yawning. The excitement was so overwhelming that it even drained Han Sen's enthusiasm.

"Let's go, guys. I know Mondays are the toughest, but you all had a good weekend. Drako and Nhil, you even managed to eat the meat of the Sacred-Blood Mammo you killed, so you're already full. And Bastet, missy, you slept the whole weekend in my Sea of Souls! I even thought you were dead!" Han Sen pointed his finger at them and complained about their behaviors.

And about the Great Giant Mammo, which he won as a mount, he didn't even expect to eat its meat. If the normal Mammos (the one from Lin Beifeng's herd) were already that big, their Sacred-Blood chief should be even larger. He hadn't summoned his Beast Soul yet, but just by seeing how big he was in his Sea of Souls, he could already imagine his normal size.

"Hmph!" x3. The three just grunted at their shameless master and decided to stay silent. They didn't like it when he was right.

"Alright. I have a mission for you guys," he called their attention again and continued, "This Dark Swamp is filled with different mutant creatures, some big and others small. For every 5 mutant beasts you bring me, I will increase your Level by two. It doesn't matter if they are the same type, just don't bring something too big and impossible to eat. If the beast is big, kill it and eat it if you want. Understood?”

"Roaar!" x3. With lively roars, they became interested as soon as they heard about the reward. Nhil and Bastet had not yet experienced what Level Up was, but they knew it was good because Drako was now the strongest among them.

"Go ahead!" Han Sen gave the starting signal and soon Bastet was the first to disappear. Drako and Nhil took off and went in different directions as well, soon vanishing inside.

Getting left behind, Han Sen calmly entered the Dark Swamp, intending to do something else.

"It's been a long time since I dedicated some time to practice my techniques. I think now would be a good time..."

With his image splitting into two, as perfect as they could be, he disappeared from the place.
