Chapter 35 - Gratitude From “Good Heart”

Seeing that Han Sen did not accept the cigarette, Lin Beifeng simply lit his own and took a good drag to relieve stress.

"Friend, what's your name? You must be very famous since you have such a powerful Beast Soul." Remembering the huge panther they used to get here quickly, Lin Beifeng thought he should know him from somewhere, as it was impossible for someone so powerful to remain hidden.

“My name is Han Sen. Nice to meet you!" Extending his hand to shake hands, Han Sen continued, "Where are you from? It seems like you've traveled a long distance to get here.”

"As I said before..." Lin Beifeng took another puff of his cigarette before continuing, "It's a long story.”

They talked for a while and Han Sen already knew what had happened, but he asked to confirm if everything was still the same. He wanted to know if some kind of butterfly effect was reaching other Shelters at that moment.

Lin Beifeng was not just rich, but super rich. He was also fortunate to be assigned to a shelter where he had very close acquaintances. So he bought a lot of mutant beast souls: armor, weapons, mounts, etc. He also hired a group of people to hunt with him, wanting to hunt a Sacred-Blood creature. With his great luck, they actually captured one, but what happened next was not so lucky. The people he hired either died or escaped, and he simply ran off into the mountains. After all kinds of danger, he managed to survive but lost almost all of the Beast Souls he bought. If it weren't for Han Sen, he would have been killed by the Mammo beasts.

"So you must be someone from another Shelter, right? I've never heard of you." Still pretending not to know him, Han Sen quickly pointed out the main issue.

"Damn, I was afraid this could have happened. I didn't know who you were and you didn't know who I was, after all." Lin Beifeng had already connected the dots, he was just scared to admit this harsh reality. Being away from his own shelter was more complicated than just distance. Even his personal room would be rendered useless.

Additionally, he had friends at the Shelter of Glory, making it easier for him to buy Beast Souls and meat. However, it was likely that no one would know him at a different shelter, so even with money, it would be difficult to purchase these things, especially at the level he desired.

“Don't worry, I have some influence in my shelter, so you won't be mistreated." Han Sen reassured him at the moment, knowing that he could do many things for him. He even had Mutant Beast Souls to sell.

The main and almost sole reason Han Sen was being kind to this person was very simple: this ordinary citizen's family in front of him had a mining PLANET. With the technologies that Han Sen already has in mind, closing a contract and making Moon Star become the sole supplier of all the needs of the Lin Family would easily propel the company to success. This would make his fame explode and it would be much easier for him to confront the Starry Group, and consequently, beat Son of A Broken Tooth until he is toothless so he couldn't do anything about it.

"You really are a very nice guy, Han Sen!" Lin Beifeng's fair and innocent heart was faithfully believing that the greedy wolf in front of him was a good little sheep. And as soon as he saw this good citizen take a bottle of water out of his bag and throw it to him, their friendship gained a few more points in his heart.

"You must be thirsty, you can drink." Seeing how easily he was rendered speechless by his kindness, Han Sen had no qualms about continuing. If in the novel this young man considered Han Sen, the greedy for money, as a brother, even though he was constantly charged for everything he did, then imagine how he felt about him, who was doing it "out of the goodness of his heart.”

"This is Snowspring water!" As soon as he drank the water, Lin Beifeng recognized the taste instantly. He just didn't recognize it before because it was in a different bottle, so he couldn't have known. And that was a very expensive thing to be casually given away like this, "Brother, how much do you want for this water? I may not have my wallet with me, but this is too precious for you to be spending like this!”

"Don't worry about paying. It's just water after all." Han Sen almost rolled his eyes at the casual way this unknown man called him brother, but he decided to accept it. And this bottle of water was one of many he carried, since meat was everywhere and he didn't need many tools to cook besides a lighter and some spices. The rest nature will provide.

Seeing how kind Han Sen was, Lin Beifeng almost knelt down and thanked the heavens for it. He swore in his heart that he would not let this friendship die for anything else, and he would surely repay him for saving his life in a moment of need.

"Hey, are you hungry?" Han Sen suddenly asked, looking down at the area below, full of beasts. He didn't carry any jerky with him, as he could stop to cook at any time, and his hunger was easily controlled. But the same couldn't be said of his clien- friend Lin.

"What are you thinking of doing?" Lin Beifeng walked up to his side and saw how the pack of mammos was still ferocious down there, wanting to kill him. Just the thought of facing it sent shivers down his spine.

"Do you like to hunt, right?" Instead of answering, he asked another question and looked at him with a strange gleam in his eyes. Lin Beifeng, who took a while to understand, saw that Han Sen was braver than he seemed.

"I do like it a little bit..." Smiling, the two looked down at the herd with a gleam of hunger and a desire for adventure.

"Hahahaha, now that's an adventure, dude! I imagined that you were powerful, but not that powerful! You have to teach me some of those moves later, bro!" Lin Beifeng was still nervously laughing, but very happy with the hunt they just had. Beside him, stuck in the ground, was a very beautiful mutant halberd.

"I told you it would be cool. Hunting one among a herd is always something thrilling." Han Sen chuckled a bit and turned the meat on the fire, that was frying several pieces of meat.

Behind them, devouring a giant mammo corpse, Bastet was having her own feast. After they get down below and fought against the herd, they managed to kill one and Han Sen summoned Bastet to bring the corpse to the cliff. It was an exhilarating battle and it almost felt like slaughtering the herd while riding on it. By the way, he didn't say that to Lin Beifeng, but he had obtained a Mount Beast Soul from the one he had killed.

"I have used a halberd only a few times, but I think I fell in love with this one, Brother Han! Be sure of it, I will repay you for this and for the armor you gave me, as well as the delicious food and water!" Almost swearing brotherhood with Han Sen for his kindness, Lin Beifeng thanked him for everything. His nose was twitching and his mouth was drooling for the meat, but he held back.

"I've said it many times, you don't need to worry about it. I am powerful on my own and had these two spare Mutant Beast Souls. You will need more than me to rebuild yourself in the Steel Armor Shelter." He was almost smiling from ear to ear now. With every "kind-hearted" action he took, his certainty of easily closing the deal with the Lin family grew even stronger. Just imagining the amount of money that would enter his account for closing a sale with the owner of a planet made his mouth water.

"You truly are a brother, Han Sen!" Lin Beifeng was brought to tears, but concealed it well. Who would have thought that after a deadly experience like the one he had, he would find a good brother in the midst of this mountain maze?

After they ate a lot and filled their bellies, Lin Beifeng praising the food several times, looked down again, and saw that the herd was even angrier than before. Han Sen thought that the presence of Bastet, a Sacred-Blood beast, would make them move away. But it seems that it wasn't quite like that.

Feeling that it was about time, since he heard a strange whistling noise coming from the top of the mountains and a beautiful death notification, he looked at Lin Beifeng right after.

"It doesn't seem like these beasts are going away anytime soon. Let's climb the cliff even higher and see if there is any way out of here. If there isn't, we can just wait." Han Sen detected that there was something strange about this herd, a stronger influence than just anger. And relying on the knowledge he gained with Hunting Skill Level 10, he knew it was a powerful creature.

"Worth a try. They are even angrier after we hunted one of them down now." Lin Beifeng saw how some of the mammo beasts in front were getting hurt because of the movements from behind. This meant that their fury had increased, and they wouldn't hesitate to kill each other just to kill him.

After being well-fed and rested, the two started climbing the cliff even higher through the vines that were there. As Lin Beifeng was weaker, he had to stop a few times to rest, but still kept up with the pace. After some time, Han Sen had to go ahead, climb onto a rock, and pull him up.

"Brother, I am too tired. Let's rest here for a few moments." Lin Beifeng looked in shock at his brother, who was climbing these walls as if it were nothing but a vertical floor. Still, he couldn't do the same and would have to rest a lot.

"I'll go up and you rest here. I don't have much hope of finding a way out, but it's better than nothing. Wait here for a bit and I'll be back soon." Han Sen continued climbing the vines after that, and Lin Beifeng simply rested on the rock. He had enough confidence in him not to think that he would abandon him here.

Climbing swiftly through the vines, so fast that he was almost running on the wall, Han Sen soon reached a rock where he saw a black tail hanging out. Jumping onto the tail, he grabbed onto it and felt it pulling him upwards.

Jump!

Falling atop a black beast covered in shiny scales, he saw a dead bird next to a large white egg. Drako, who had his head held high and seemed ready to be praised, looked at Han Sen on his back in anticipation of his merits being acknowledged.

"What are you waiting for? You haven't done more than your duty!" Han Sen smiled and playfully slapped the dragon's head, who snorted angrily and lay down on the ground. If it weren't for the fact that he already knew he was like that, Drako might have blown a foul breath in his face.

His master was a shameless, stingy, and brazen person!
