Chapter 27 - Angry Poisonous Orange Hornet

Dressed in gray armor and a black cloak with silver edges, this human moved with skill. Those with slower eyes only saw him appear and disappear from trees, like an optical illusion.
Seeming to have arrived at the point he wanted to be, a plateau with several huge trees in the plain below, the figure jumped from the tree branch and landed on the ground skillfully. Getting up and looking around, he removed the hood from his head and revealed himself as Han Sen.
"What a hunt, buddy. What a hunt." Looking at his new cape, which was the Beast Soul that fell from the eagle, he praised his divine luck. With his main equipment increasingly resembling that of an assassin, he was more than happy to get a cape like this.
It was completely black, but the edges were painted in silver that he couldn't tell what it was. In addition to the beauty, it also had a hood that covered his head and also had the function of isolating his presence if he hid and covered with it. Even if he had to learn to move with it, so that it did not present any risk of danger during his movements, it was worth it just for the aesthetics.
Moreover, this was his status after eating the two mutant beasts he had killed the day before. He was getting fewer points, but at least he was reaching a high level.

"And here we are, isn't it?" He looked around and cracked his neck in anticipation. He could already hear the buzzing of the hornets from this distance, so many that he didn't even want to imagine the risk of infiltrating this hunting field.
Giving one last check to his things, Han Sen began to calculate some investments he would make at this moment.
"I think it's best to raise my throwing skills level, since most of them will fly. I think after the first deaths, I'll only spend EXP to improve my shooting skill." After thinking for a while, he speculated how his fight with the immense amount of hornets in this forest would be and decided it was the best way.
As flying and venomous insects, they would survive by preying on unsuspecting beasts, counting on the large number of comrades around and also that few beasts knew how to fly or had a strong defense to avoid a sharp sting.
So he would have to rely on his three daggers for a while before starting to use the Beast Soul Bolts he would get from the creatures' fall. Either way, he needed to improve his skill now to protect himself.
Having 2088 EXP after the last day, he decided to spend it all right away. His intention was to spend six days here, and he would do so by hunting all the time. Therefore, his EXP would be raised very quickly and he would take advantage of it.
Spending 900 EXP to raise two levels in his throwing skill, Han Sen felt the knowledge complementing everything he already knew, making his skills even deadlier. He was now sure he could hit the center of a beast's eye from at least 100 meters away. And all this while he was still at Level 5.
He also spent 1000 EXP and improved the two new mutant Beast Souls he had. As each of them was already at the mutant tier, he only spent the points necessary to take them to full tier.
Two beasts emerged from his body, the cloak behind him unraveling and transforming into a beautiful Black Eagle. When injected with the mysterious and powerful energy that is EXP, its form became even larger and its sharp claws shone in pure metal, looking even more deadly. If it were alive, it would pose a life-threatening danger even to Han Sen. Infiltrating back into his body, the cloack resurfaced and covered his body, becoming even more beautiful and imposing. Its cloaking characteristic must have also improved greatly, which he would use a lot in this nest of creatures.
Meanwhile, the Three-Headed Cobra was also slowly improved by the energy of EXP and its body grew, becoming more spiny and intimidating. The orange color became full red, the yellow eyes becoming vibrant and threatening. Moving towards Han Sen, it fully transformed into a beautiful crossbow, with a red wood texture with yellow details, and the metal containing it became black like the vertical pupils. In addition, its size increased to about 60cm and a weight of 7kg, having three mouths to shoot bolts and some kind of storage for rapid fire. Compared to its common primitive version, it was like heaven and earth (I hate using these Chinese romance comparisons...)
"I honestly don't know how anyone could not like crossbows..." Han Sen caressed the top of the crossbow, analyzing and appreciating the beautiful Beast Soul. He seemed not to even care that only he could evolve his beast, while the rest had to settle for a weaker and potentially disposable version.
Walking to the end of the plateau, he saw that the distance was not so great until he reached a tree. His heart beat a little faster with the idea of jumping without thinking about how the hell he was going to land. While his mind screamed an absolute no every time and tried to use reason to self-hypnotize, Han Sen's legs moved on their own.
"Uhuuuuu!!!! Time to hunt!!"
⍙⍙⍙
"Damn, damn, damn! What an dumb idea!!"
Running with all his might, Han Sen didn't even care about the dust covering his cloak and armor. The way he ran was also funny, but he was actually using every last neuron to think of a way to run faster.
The reason for his unfortunate run was the same reason for his successful landing. After jumping off the cliff in search of pure excitement, which he never felt again thanks to his millennial imprisonment, he somehow managed to maneuver his fall and managed to land. But where he landed was the problem.
"I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS YOUR NEST, OK???"
With several giant Poisonous Orange Hornets (primitive version of the hornet) chasing him, he ran across the land while trying to think of a way not to die just because he had stopped for a second. Because the trees around were very big, with hundreds of meters, there was no visible branch he could access without wings, so he only depended on the ground to run.
Thinking he would spend the rest of the day just running away from those hornets, Han Sen saw a very big stone standing in a way that looked like a ramp. With a malicious smile on his face, he changed the direction of his run, and the hundreds of hornets followed him immediately.
Arriving at the rock, he quickly ran across its entire length and finally reached the end. Without stopping for a moment, he jumped from there as high as he could.
Jump! Swoosh! Swoosh!
As soon as he jumped, two sounds of something cutting through the air sounded and two small daggers flew towards the flying swarm of hornets. Han Sen had a smile when he finally felt a bit of relief.
"Finally-"
BOOOMMM!!

With multiple notifications sounding at the same time, the explosion that engulfed an entire sector of those grunts killed more than Han Sen could imagine. A flood of Beast Souls appeared in his Sea of Souls, and he didn't waste any time in pulling out his crossbow.
Swoosh! x3
Swoosh! x3
Swoosh! x3
Swoosh! x3
With a shower of bolts he shot, each of his shots was hitting the primitive hornets. Some arrows pierced the head while others only the body, which did not immediately kill due to its large size. But as the shots kept coming, even after the drones had reorganized, the effectiveness of each death increased and increased. There was a moment when the shots only hit the head, even if it was not in the forehead.
Now in control of the situation, Han Sen constantly used his enhanced senses and body to run backwards, more jumping than running. His attention was fully on shooting while moving, his shots becoming more deadly. He didn't need any system improvement to possess a high level of skill. As a supreme genius, his understanding of anything was monstrous, even though he had only recently started on this path.
About two hours later, Han Sen finally managed to eliminate the entire nest of hornets that had been after him, even the Poisonous Yellow Hornets (common tier) were sent to the afterlife. With hundreds of corpses scattered in a deathly trail, he could finally take a sigh of relief.
"Never do something so stupid again..." Shouldering his crossbow while still holding it, he remembered how it all started. But then, a smile crept onto his face at the thought of doing it again.
"Let's go!"
