Chapter 16 - Training, Practicing and Learning
Added 2024-05-07 17:19:46 +0000 UTCComing out of the cold shower, Han Sen looked at the bathroom mirror and saw the changes brought to his body. He remembered the first night he reincarnated here and how his body looked thin, but well-defined. Now, it seemed like he was putting on more muscles underneath that leanness, maintaining the definition, as well as his size grew a little more, almost 1,78m (He is 1.75m on the start of the novel). And his skin also became better, more than usual.
"I should have imagined, since it was a technique mainly focused on women. Even though there has been a great conversion, there are still some effects like this..." He looked a little more at the mirror and shrugged, "Well, I can't do anything about it.”
As it was already morning and he had practiced all night, he quickly prepared breakfast and went to his room to sleep. He needed a good morning's sleep.

"Mom, I already said I was joking..." Han Sen was listening to his mother's lecture while eating, hearing her talk about women, education, and women. There was also something about women in the conversation, but he wasn't sure.
"Son, I didn't raise you to live in this world alone. If you're in need of company, find a girlfriend!" Luo Sulan was doing her best to educate her son, without any shame, "You don't tell me anything anymore! Do you at least have a girlfriend?”
"I have five, and one is pregnant," Han Sen said as he put the bread in his mouth and carefully chewed the delicious strawberry jelly. It was a blessing.
"What?" Luo Sulan froze at that moment, shocked at what she had heard. But soon after she became angry when she saw her son smiling at her. "I am your mother, don't provoke me!!”
"Alright, alright. I'm going to train..." Han Sen chuckled a bit and left the house after having breakfast. He was leisurely walking towards a public park, where there were some exercise facilities.
As the creator of the [Frost King Sutra], he knew that the main incentive for the technique to have its full effect was precisely the intense and prolonged effort, which gave the body the opportunity to grow. He had spent a lot of time just hunting in the Sanctuary, and now he wanted to spend some time training. Although the Upgrade System really helped him, he still needed to do some things on his own.
Putting on his headphones, he started running through the natural park, which was surrounded by neon lights and a strange yet beautiful nature. Calm and composed, he ran with the sole purpose of warming up his body. His speed remained constant, and he was using the Sutra breathing technique to increase his practice rate. In this way, he could encourage the technique to have effects on the body, such as relieving fatigue and maintaining a constant state of readiness.
Han Sen then spent about 10 days practicing intense physical activities, returning home and training with the initial movements of the technique. Just like in the Sanctuary, he spent 16 hours a day constantly training and pushing his body to the limit.

"No matter how much I train, relying on the system is much easier... but a lot more boring!" Han Sen looked at the gigantic changes in his body, as well as felt his strength increase greatly. If he were to fight against himself from 10 days ago, he would beat him to death in no time. This was the improved effect of the [Frost King Sutra].
But his stress was precisely because, although these 10 days had functioned as vacation, the amount of EXP he could have obtained would have been enough to compensate for the training and even improve it. Despite being very good, he had spent his entire life relying on his own efforts to become stronger. It was strange when such a useful tool appeared, it made him feel pathetic.
"Well, I want to say thank you very much, system. But don't let me depend on you." Han Sen was being quite sincere, although he wasn't talking to anyone at the same time. He said it to remind himself of what was most important. Practice comes before perfection.
Withdrawing from such a monologue, Han Sen soon went to his room with a plate full of food and sat on a state-of-the-art floating chair. Activating the holographic screens, he quickly returned to studying Hyper Gene Arts. He wanted to understand well what he was doing so that he couldn't make any mistakes in his practice.
So, after hacking some laboratory databases, what he discovered was quite interesting. The Arts of Hyper Gene were indeed ancient martial arts that required greater physical preparation and a set of mysterious techniques that worked at that time. Just like in his ancient world, where there was spiritual energy, the origin of martial arts here relied on some kind of energy that improved the body, and thus made them more powerful. The difference now is that this energy translated into genetic points.
Therefore, in addition to constant physical training, there was some kind of mystery within the practice that made the power of genes flow through the body and improve it in a mystical way. This meant that the techniques were altered for this purpose in the first place.
"If that's the case, then several of the martial arts in my world can be transformed into Hyper Gene Arts..." Han Sen carefully studied before making such a statement. The society he lived in now had less than 200 years of martial arts recovery, while he himself came from a world of martial artists. His head was practically a library full of it.
As soon as this thought came to his mind, he thought of the only technique he had been practicing from the beginning until now.
"Then the Devourer Sutra can be transformed into a Hyper Gene Art?"
And he didn't linger on that. Typing furiously on the holographic keyboard, he began to perfectly describe the ancient texts of the Devourer Sutra, which explained how to execute the technique from beginning to end.
It was about 6 hours of typing before he finished, and right after that he pulled the files he typed from the [Frost King Sutra]. Even though he had all of this in his head, he still used the technology at his disposal to further accelerate his thinking process. As if merging the two, he began to unravel the secrets of transforming his technique into something entirely new and of another reality on his own. The spiritual part of the technique needed to be converted into something entirely new and that he had no profound knowledge about. It was as if he had to convert the first steam engine into a nuclear power plant.
"Even if I do it like this, it won't work..." Han Sen muttered to himself and constantly made changes to the arts. He was learning from scratch how to make a Hyper Geno Art, without any guidance and without knowing how the ones that already existed originated. "I need more data...”
At the moment when he was about to start hacking more difficult databases, his systems reminded him of his current inability. He was now in a block, where he would have to spend large amounts of time reprogramming and improving the systems to access the data, and then another huge amount of time turning his [Devourer Sutra] into a Hyper Gene Art. Basically, it's not worth doing it now. To sum it up, he needed EXP.
"I need to go back to hunting in the Sanctuary. I'm rushing too much now..." With this wall of time in front of him, Han Sen stepped back a bit. His crazy idea almost derailed him now, and he wasn't willing to waste time here. He was still at the beginning of the stairs and already wanted to know how to fly up to the hundredth step.
While he was lost in thought, his comlink suddenly beeped, and a holographic figure appeared as soon as he accepted the call.
"Han Sen, what have you been up to lately? It's been a while since we last met. Let's hang out someday!" The hologram of a smiling, handsome, long-haired man around Han Sen's age appeared on the communicator.
"Where are we going?" Han Sen smiled at seeing Zhang Danfeng, the long-haired guy. They grew up together and he was the son of Mr. Zhang, the lawyer.
As he was no longer his childhood friend, he felt strange about being friendly with the guy. But to keep up appearances, he decided to go. It was either that or leave the situation awkward.
"Get out first! Han Hao and Xue Xi are with me and we're almost there!" Said Zhang Danfeng. From the call, it seemed pretty obvious that he was already close to stopping at his house's door.
"Sure." Han Sen nodded, put on some new clothes his mother had bought him, and walked out the door. There was an aerocar parked outside and Zhang Danfeng waved to him from the driver's seat. ‘I just remembered these things exist. I might buy one for myself someday. It shouldn't be too expensive.’
Han Sen entered and saw a girl and a guy chatting in the back seats. The girl named Xue Xi was very beautiful and kind. And the guy was Han Hao, the fat aunt's son.
"Good evening, Miss Xue Xi. How many centuries has it been since we last saw each other?" Han Sen extended his fist to the girl, who laughed at his joke and lightly punched his hand.
"You're still as foolish as ever, Han Sen!" She was looking too much at Han Sen's face, her focus mainly on his bright eyes and rosy lips. Realizing what she had done, she blushed a little.
The four grew up together. However, after Han Sen's father's accident, he could only attend integrated compulsory education, while the rest were in private schools. Would it be a shock if they knew that Han Sen is now richer than all their families combined? Perhaps so, which is why he decided to save his fancy clothes for another occasion.
Han Sen nodded to Han Hao and sat in the co-pilot seat. Han Hao glanced at him and continued talking to Xue Xi, ignoring Han Sen. He was mostly jealous of their interaction and didn't like it at all.
“Xue Xi, you should see this! The Golden Man just waved his hand and turned into a monster with horse legs and the upper body of a human in golden armor. He was so powerful that his roar alone was enough to make people's ears bleed! The Son of Heaven and his gang could do nothing but watch him gallop away with the equipment and even the body of the beast…”
