Seconded

Also important to note that Carpenter's work is anti-authoritarian, and much of his work, has such themes- even Memoirs of an Invisible Man, which includes a corrupt and vicious government official. But Snake Plissken is the ultimate personification of Carpenter's anti-authoritarian sensibilities.

Happy that you guys appreciated Escape from LA. I've always been a defender of this misunderstood Carpenter flick, and even told him to his face during a Dutch convention that I considered it 'underrated'. I even have a tattoo of Escape from New York but using the final line of LA- 'Welcome to the Human Race'. Truly one of the greatest final lines of cinema.

Still think you guys should talk about Saturday Night in a catch up. It’s not amazing but definitely a bit better than I expected. I have a feeling you guys would have some interesting things to say about it!

Thanks for sending it!

Another movie I have to watch! I need to read the book first though

Almost Cult Classics

Jon Lovitz is the least of that movie’s problems 😆

A police academy retrospective please

El bobos

Apologies in advance

Ryan Lancello

That honestly sounds so much better

Correct Kurt hiatus ended with the Elvis mini series directed by John Carpenter, which fun fact about that Kurt has been on screen with Elvis at the 1964 World's Fair, at the same time a young Michael Eisner met Walt Disney at the same event

JokersJuicyAss

Just another movie idea “With Honors” starring Joe Pesci and Brendan Fraser

I’m starting to worry 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND is going to get torn apart. Perhaps its random use of Jon Lovitz won’t be viewed in a positive light.

Knights of Columbus? Ryan just join the Knights Templar

It was so nice to hear all the positive take aways on the movies. I wish this episode was an hour longer though. Great job guys!

Jason Patterson

I can only hope my last words are half as inspiring

Happy New Year, boys! Fun fact but Walt Disney’s last words were “Kurt Russell”. Another great episode guys, audios a bit low on this one though

Tristan Horse

Very small role in The Grifters as well but memorable there too !

Scott Ruisch

Sounds like I need to re-watch Confessions of a Dangerous Mind!

Loved hearing the praise for the late great JT Walsh - he was brilliant in everything and is one of my favourite all time actors too. Sling Blade is a film that he’s in all of five minutes, but he is absolutely unforgettable in that.

Heath Chamerski

Love 3000 Miles to Graceland have nostalgia feelings towards that film like Elvis music and Kevin Costner, also Christian Slater being a an Elvis fan reminded me of True Romance I love him in True Romance

Michael Sgambati

I have been thinking of just sending you guys a load of just Burt Reynolds staring movies for a "Burt Reynolds Bonanza" as I title it

JokersJuicyAss

I'm glad you guys finally did a movie I sent you and I'm glad you really enjoyed it Ryan

JokersJuicyAss

The lesson of Breakdown is that you shouldn't buy a Chrysler

JokersJuicyAss

Breakdown takes place in Arizona by the way.

It's good to see me and Kurt share the same work ethic, "Do your job, and shut the fuck up."

JokersJuicyAss

Speaking of the guitar I argued with someone recently, his whole thing was because the guitar was smashed Quentin is an asshole. 1.) It wasn't his guitar, and 2.) It's not like Quentin wanted that guitar smashed, it was an accident

JokersJuicyAss

Hey, since you briefly mentioned Home Alone 2 and the idea of the retread "it happened again!" sequel, I thought I'd share my idea for what it could've been instead. My daughter and I were talking about this a couple of years ago during our annual re-watch and we came up with a premise that separated not just Kevin from his parents but all of the McCallister kids from the two sets of parents. It would be fun to have the kids all have to work together as a family unit to make their way back to the adults.

I had the exact same thought about the men's lodge thing watching that stupid Best of Times movie. I think it actually IS illegal.
