I MAY have figured out what was causing the crashes on the Ashley and Sheva project.

The .blends started crashing when going into render view in the viewport, or rendering the image. The crash log said "exemption access violation". When researching, most of the results were vague. "The system is trying to write somewhere that it doesn't have access to."

To muddy things, I had recently done a "tune-up" on my PC, cleaning out files, downloading new drivers, organizing programs. I assumed I'd put something in the wrong place. I got as far as swapping out both characters rigs and re-posing, but the crashes remained! Eventually, I decided I had to move on, hopefully stumbling across the answer at some point in the future.

Well, I believe I stumbled upon it! Was working on a render test and added a material from the BlenderKit plug-in. A few moments later, Blender crashed. Whatever; reloaded, and it crashed again. A chill went down my spine! I rushed to the crash log and there it was, "exemption access violation."

Thankfully, I made the connection to Blenderkit. I changed where Blenderkit was saving assets, putting the folder right on the desktop.

No more crashes!

I deleted everything with Blenderkit materials in the Ashley scene, cleaned the Blender, and rendered. It's working! I messed around a bit and will have to try animating for awhile to make sure we're good, but I think we figured it out.

Assuming the scene holds up, I'm gonna finish the Squirrel Girl and Ice Queen animations (the latter of which will be out next week). Will do Ashley and Sheva after, and do a poll or two for a smaller projects to sandwich between.
