About weather or not any members of the BRF attended the wedding: Prince Edward and Sophie attended, for many many years it seems like they’ve been the go to representative that the BRF send for events like these. A shame really because as a result there’s really no closeness or true emotional bonds between the main line BRF and the other mainland monarchies. I doubt that Charles had anyone to vent and relate to about the pressures and expectations of being an heir, same now with William. The Scandinavian heirs(I will still count the king of Denmark as an heir for this comment simply because the abdication is still so recent) has grown up together, they’ve worked together countless of times, have family vacations together and they’re godfathers and mothers to each others children. They and the rest of the monarchies in Europe attend events such as this not only as “work colleagues” (which unfortunately is the case with the BRF) they attend as friends and family and you can really tell (especially at CP Victorias wedding where numerous queens and future queens shed happy tears for the couple). I’m sure that Prince Edward and Sophie has grown close to many mainland royals but how long exactly will they be “relevant” to attend these types of events without it starting to come off as a “slight”, like they can’t bother to send someone closer to the main line? (Other countries send their kings and queen or their heir)

2024-03-16 08:54:18 +0000 UTCi have never actually cared about the royal family except for reading about former monarchs in our history i think the support for the royal family is pretty high in sweden but def not on the same level as in britain and you need more than a tatoo to make a scandal of the royal family, for example was there a scandal that allegations that told that our current king visited stripclubs and prostitutes over the years the royal family neither confirm or denied this i dont think that the other would pass away so quickly after the other has died, i mean i think of my grandparents who was married for like 50 years until my grandfather died of cancer but my grandmother lived on and turns 97 this summer
