Yo my super Patrons. I know I am not posting that much but the spanish Covid crisis got me stucked in my holiday home, wich is cool but I don’t have any internet connection. And I admit I am working in a slightly messy way trying to get rid of all the delay I accumulated during the lockdown... SO:
I often get asked about PERSPECTIVE so I want to show you here how I create a background with a strong perspective.
So the script sais I have to create a scene with Shaolin monks doing kung-fu in front of a temple.
I always start with a little sketch where I decide the masses and point of view.
I use references to help me in the more detailed drawing.
I draw the basic lines of my perspective: here I put the horizon line very low for a dramatic effect.
I create the MASSES of the main elements.
I start putting volumes and détails. Notice the OVERLAY element (the lion statue).
Then I use photoshop to udjust the image .
Ok I’m ready for inking :)
I hope this will be helpful ! Go now on your own crazy backgrounds :)))
Hugs!
A.
