My dad had a head injury from a car accident 4-5 years ago and his mental status and brain health has declined significantly to the point there’s days he is just in a haze and can barely do or remember things and his memory lets him remember things differently as they were like 30-40 years ago but can remember things short term or just a few years ago. Sadly I know there’s going to be a day, more than likely sooner than I want to think about, my dad wakes up and he isn’t going to know who I am or the rest of the family is… I really don’t want to experience that or have him or my family go through it but it’s an inevitability. Stay strong and love.
