Short story teaser/ abandoned work

Hello to all my brand-new patrons! I have been tossing up whether or not to share this, but I thought it would be a good way to let everyone know that I am working on a short story.

What you see here is a story I began back in May 2024. I foolishly started drawing it before I figured out the ending. I’ve since gone back, re-worked the story, mapped out the entire thing and have begun drawing it.

The character designs have even changed. Since I've always kind of struggled to draw animals, I was tracing photos of my own dog. I ended up practicing drawing corgis until I settled on the design you see in the last image.

So, the upcoming story is not the story you see here! This is a draft version, the story has changed, but the concept is largely the same. What's the concept? Our main character, Cassie, meets a dog, and it's love at first sight (when I say ‘love’ I mean the regular kind you feel for a dog, nothing weird). Cassie goes to great lengths to stay with this dog that is owned by someone else.

I will be releasing it on Patreon first, likely on the Gotchies tier and then progressively make it available on lower tiers before releasing the completed story publicly.
