Questions for Alastair's HGV Q&A : What is progression fantasy, in your experience of reading it ? Why do you like progression fantasy ? For the progression fantasy that you want to write, what story or writing elements do you want to emphasize the most ?

Books are a big topic and love of yours. Have you read Wolfsong by TJ Klune? Recently finished and sooo good! Don't let the werewolf premise throw you. Very well written with adventure and m/m romance. HIghly recommend the whole series.

Alastair! The was the coziest video ever! 🥹 It had me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. 🥰
Being like 6'1", I honestly envy shorter people for being able to just enjoy baths because they always seem so short and shallow to really be able to enjoy them.
I remember reading Eragon when the movie was announced and really liking it but I think I watched the movie prior to starting the next book and I think the movie soured me on the series unfortunately. I really should give it another chance.
I loved Legends and Lattes and have Bookshops & Bone dust downloaded but I haven't started yet.
I have The Rebuilding Year downloaded and ready to listen to when I go to the gym or go for walks.
Project Management is a great field to go into. You get the proper certification and with your natural leadership ability, you'll be highly sought after! 👍
Stay safe where you are. Excited for you to get back to Zachary and Brando! Lattes & Libros sounds like a great name for a shop for you. ☕📚💖

Alastair, you're such a lovely soul. Your heart is overflowing with compassion. You haven't read those books in ten years, yet the thought of this character getting their own story gets the tears flowing. I have zero doubt that your love and compassion envelopes every aspect of your life. You are beautiful.

So a few alarm bells went off for me when you said you had worked 70 of the last 70 days... but thinking more on it, perhaps that is what it is like being deployed, and this is just going to be 300 continuous days of work - living where you work and working where you live. it does sound like you have a great plan for writing as a creative outlet and you must get down time etc. You look well so that's good! Its neat to think you're enjoying Zach's content like the rest of us. Both you and he are in a completely different class than anyone else I've seen on Youtube.
It was Sept 30th when Zach posted a video saying you were deployed and among other things the Patreon page was launching. I remember the date because he said something else: that you and he were going to gym every day as one of the strategies to cope with the deployment. I thought this was so smart - exercise interrupts cycles of thinking that can get you down. The reason I remember this is I thought to myself that day "if they are doing this, then what is my excuse?" and I haven't looked back... I've been doing a core strength training program at home nearly every day since then (excluding days I'm tired from working at the farm.) I had been planning it but putting it off
All this just to say I think you're doing great, I'm happy I can come along this journey in my own small way, and both you and Zach are in my thoughts and I hope you never feel alone!

Great HGV ep3. Although i like seeing you in your military garb, you showing up relaxed and cozy paints a good picture and sets a great mood! My main genre for reading is definitely fantasy followed by sci-fi. Lately I've been consumed by anything with a gay character/theme-in particular spooky stuff. I've not read the Eragon series. Was kinda hopeful for the movie but was a little bit let down. Might pick up the series just to see what it could have been. OMG a Brunch and Books! I would live there on weekends!
A live stream of the book club would be nice, it would give everyone a chance in real time to feel connected-read the book (fast read actually) and definitely have my opinions-lol)
On Olive Garden-well, there a many great Italian restaurants out there but their breadsticks and salad are pretty tasty-plus it holds a nostalgia feel for me-went there for lunch regularly when I lived in LA many moons ago.
Stay safe-til the next HGV...!
