Possible Reward Tier Changes
Added 2017-01-03 04:22:28 +0000 UTCYesterday I had a lengthy discussion with Eldrik in the stream about the upper tiers - since the holiday drop at the end of the year left us with one >30$ patron, and that patron is generally fine with things being tweaked a bit, we felt this was a good time to do such tweaking.
What we were pondering:
> Add a NEW reward tier to $40, and move Q&A to $30.
This is where I need your opinions! The tier we were thinking about adding is the following:
$40 - Creation Tier - Each month you can describe a scene consisting of up to two characters (A monster, complicated machine, etc, would count as a character), and we will create a sketch of that scene! Alternately, you can improve upon a previous sketch you've received (Rough -> Cleaned -> Flat color, etc). Sketches have the same content restrictions as the mini comics, except we will allow sketches that are just a character / pin-ups. (Limit 5)
The main issue with the above is that our goals are very close to our production costs. This tier at max capacity would be a sizable increase in that cost, and thus if we added it I'd also be increasing all of the goal totals by $80 to ensure that's never an issue. So 3-page minis would be the $380, first color goal would be $630, second color goal $930, etc.
So two questions:
> Should we add something like this tier? Given the goal cost change?
> If yes, should it work like the above or should it be tweaked in some way?

That's not bad. Kind of like paying for a commission a month at a time.

2017-01-03 04:37:32 +0000 UTCIf I'm reading this right, it means $40 tier would get a rough sketch with 1 or 2 characters in it for each month. If the patron wishes to upgrade to a clean sketch the next month instead of getting a new rough sketch, that's an option. From there the patron could upgrade to flat color the next month if they chose and presumably keep going month to month until they got a fully colored and shaded simple picture. It's an interesting idea. Could be reading it wrong though.

2017-01-03 04:35:52 +0000 UTCI suppose, however, someone could create a comic of sorts one scene at a time.

2017-01-03 04:34:13 +0000 UTCIt'd be more comparable to one of the scenes in our Halloween post, or some of the random sketches we've posted at the $15 level. A single scene, not multiple panels. Max resolution for upgraded versions would be 1500x1500 as well (large, but small compared to the massive resolution of the patron-only versions of the comic pages).

2017-01-03 04:33:43 +0000 UTCSo at the 40 tier the person would basically get a custom comic each month?
