tae is just so charming and gentle, I think he was the perfect fit for being able to get a bit deeper with hobi as he finds the perfect balance between considerate questioning, and lighthearted, witty responses that were clearly unscripted. the first time I watched this, I was slightly surprised by how restless and uncomfortable hobi seemed when talking about his successes with his music, but it makes total sense after what he said at the end about not feeling quite up-to-scratch according to his own standards. I'm so glad he was interviewed by someone like tae who was able to gently combat that insecurity with his genuine admiration.

I feel like BTS' entertainment agency is really strategic in these types of situations with which boys they put together. It's so interesting to see how many different facets there are to all of their personalities, but in my personal opinion Taehyung has the most, and I feel like the different sides of him are often just a little bit exaggerated in comparison to those same traits in other people. He tends to have this really vulnerable childlike part of him that's filled with curiosity and wonder, and I think it's this side of him that makes other people just want to open up when he's around. So I think he was a really really good choice for cracking a hard nut like J-Hope in an interview. It was funny to also watch you in this video Max! There was a point in the first third of the video where I was really engrossed in the interview to the point that I didn't really notice that you hadn't made an observation in a while, and as soon as that thought came to my mind I looked over at your face and you were just as immersed as I had been; that made me laugh so hard I had to pause💜💜

This reaction made me so happy ! I cracked up at minute 3 when you were like “We haven’t even started and I have so much to say” 😂 relatable !! I got so excited when you were like “wow jhope looks so happy talking about music” bc I knew tae was literally about to say that next haha that was very endearing. There’s something so interesting about hobi bc since he’s so bubbly, I think he comes off as someone who just seems like he’d be so open but to your point, he really isn’t ! He, like jin, seems to be most comfortable expressing himself through his music and letting it speak for itself rather than opening up about it otherwise. Idk there just seems to be something a bit unknowable about him! It’s very interesting to see him next to yoongi/joon for sure. I am obviously tae biased but even so, as you noted, he comes off so charming in this episode ! Bc he’s more soft spoken, he doesn’t always speak up as much when all 7 are together, but I think when you see him one on one like this, you sort of understand why tae has been able to make so many industry friends bc when he is focused, he’s really attentive and curious. I’m both sad that these are drawing to an end but excited you’ve gotten to see them! I feel like they’ve really let you see new sides to the boys which is obviously always great. Looking forward to the last one !
