My Cage "Classic" 03/01/2010

My son turns 15 today. Being a dad is, like, the only thing I've ever been good at. :D

What is the thing you do best out of all the things you do in life?

Being a good Dad is very important. Plus you're a great cartoonist!

Ironically, being a curmudgeon, I seem to get along reasonable well with most people. ...Now, get the grawlix off my lawn.

I'm good at composing complex abstract images that are well balanced and interesting.

I can cause computer problems even at a distance. For instance: My states health insurance agency half dropped me and half kept me in their books. A year of the behind the screen experts making no progress, I resolved it by having them totally and completely drop me. (where I will ghost their programs into perpetuity) Also all the glitches I cause in my own computer and phone. I suffer as I find the bugs in almost every online interface I have. Programmers should hire me. No takers yet..

I seem to be excellent at procrastination.

It's a tie between playing with Photoshop and talking to & learning about people (and goddammit, you are an excellent humor writer - I can't think of the last MC strip that didn't deliver a good chuckle or a LOL moment.)

I’m honestly not sure. I could write multithreaded code in assembler language in 1970, I’ve used more programming languages than I can count, and programming is the only way I’ve ever made a living, but I also have a more general trick of mastering things quickly (such as acting Shakespeare, singing opera, and textual editing [going over antique books, finding typos, and figuring out what the author originally intended]), to the point of being accepted as at least a demi-peer by real professionals. It doesn’t work all the time, though. I’m uncoordinated, not very strong, and, when it comes to human languages, a typical American monoglot.

i am extremely good and organization and planning. That comes in handy with a 12000+ movie collection plus TV shows... a few thousand CDs and a few thousand albums. Then there are books. Somehow, I rarely buy the same thing twice and I know where everything is... and my organizational methods are confusing to others...but work for me.
