I was going to have one of the characters mention that. There is a reason but it has yet to be revealed ;) Possibilities include: A) Kazu is secretly super strong, B) Bork decided to let them go (but did lip service to his duty by reporting the event to his superiors) or C) Bork had just returned from a massive battle in the catacombs below and was hovering on a handful of HP.
