1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Early Access Release! - Assetto Corsa

The 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 was powered by a supercharged 2.3-liter straight-eight producing roughly 155hp at 5200RPM. Power was transmitted via a 4 speed manual gearbox. The chassis was a pressed-steel ladder chassis with rigid axles, semi-elliptic leaf springs, friction dampers, and mechanically actuated finned drum brakes on all four wheels. The short wheelbase Le Mans cars measured about 2,750 mm between axles.

On track the 8C 2300 was immediately dominant: Tazio Nuvolari won the 1931 Targa Florio in an 8C 2300, and a few weeks later Sir Henry “Tim” Birkin and Earl Howe won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in an 8C 2300, the first Le Mans victory for an Italian car, breaking the 3,000 km distance barrier and taking all three trophies. Yet this was only the beginning for this legendary racecar...

Our 1931 8C 2300 relies upon Custom Shaders Patch's extended physics, featuring a physical tire model (as opposed to a single contact point), RainFX support, fully simulated brake temps & fade, engine & transmission damage simulation, and dozens of other advanced improvements over the default AC physics engine. We have a bunch of liveries in development which will follow in a subsequent update. Finally, we also have the much improved 1932-1934 version of the 8C 2300 in development as well!
