DOOR TO DOOR SALESMAN: UPDATE ON ALL THE THINGS

Hello, gang. Sorry it has been a tad quiet this week on here. We were babysitting our grandson on Monday and Tuesday, then we’ve been in prep since for the last studio block of Digi Level 2 filming, which kicks off next week. I also somehow managed to come down with a stomach bug on Wednesday which didn’t help.

Thus, it has been all hands to the “pumps” behind the scenes, so to speak, even if Digi and BYAMPOD have had to be on an emergency schedule in terms of what we’re putting out publicly. It won’t be like this forever. We’ll be back to both with full weekly force soon enough. I just don’t want to rush things out for the sake of it, in amid more pressing things.

Besides, every time I talk to somebody about BYAMPOD they tell me they’re really behind, so there’s a lot of catching up for people to do.

Aaaaanyway.

Despite still feeling pretty rotten yesterday – Sanja also has a cold, whinge whinge whinge – we managed to get another big chunk of the Digi Level 2/Digi Live set painted.

My plan for today is to finish off the infamous bunker door (see above: still needs some work; I’m not happy with the paint job/weathering), Sanja’s going to be working on some of the wall panels that will serve as the backing/surround of the door, and then early next week we’ll test putting it all together. It should, fingers crossed, look pretty amazing once it’s assembled on set.

As soon as next week’s filming is out of the way, my current plan is to split the Digi Level 2 series into two halves. The first three eps will, if I can get them edited, air pre-next month’s Digi Live, with the other three (maybe four) happening in September.

It’s not ideal, but we’ve got to film some location stuff with backers, and I don’t think we’re going to have time to organize it with all the Digi Live prep happening (which, as if I need to remind you, is TWO shows this time: buy tickets!). This might all change of course, depending on available time, but it would be nice to get at least some of Digi Level 2 seen by people before the live show, if only to help ticket sales (BUY TICKETS!!!!).

In other news, I did a two-hour interview last night with the Under Consoletation podcast – should be out for everyone a week on Tuesday, and - appropriately for Digi’s 30th anniversary – I’m still finding new stuff to talk about with regard to its history. We also talked a lot about modern day Digi, Found Footage, Digi The Show and, obviously, Digi Live (BUY TICKETS!!!?!).

We’re going to some Gunpowder Plot immersive thing tomorrow with our chum Mark (BYAMPOD listeners know him as ‘Dimples’), which we were meant to do last year, but then my dad got poorly. It’s by the same people who do the War of the Worlds immersive show, which was very good. And even better if, like us, you’d necked a load of cocktails in the bar beforehand.
