PATREON EXCLUSIVE: WRITER'S CLUB FOR ALL!

Hello, you lot.

I’ve decided to share this week’s Writer’s Club podcast with everyone, as it gives a bit of context into why Digi stuff has been a little bit sparse of late.

Seems like I apologise a lot at the minute for that lack of content. We had planned to film today (as you’ll hear in this episode), but… when it came to it this morning… I’ve just got nothing to give. We tossed around a few ideas about how we could film something that wasn’t going to take it out of me, but I just need a day or so catching up on other things, and trying to regather some energy.

It’s frustrating to me, because we’ve mostly always managed to keep to a weekly schedule - even during the worst parts of last year - and I want to give back to you all for supporting us. I don’t mind skimping on putting stuff out for the general public, but I don’t like not giving you anything.

At the same time, I know that I’ve got to take my foot off the pedal for a bit, otherwise I’m going to drive head-first into a wall. We’ve got more Digi Level 2 filming and Digi Live coming up this summer, and I need to be at my best to tackle such big projects. I mean, it has been lovely having work again, but man… why did it all have to happen at once?!?

So, thank you for your patience and bearing with me while I gather myself. I hope at least that these sort of extra Patreon-only updates go some way to giving back and make it worth continuing to support. Also, Biffo’s Brain gang, after listening to this… let me know which day/time you’d prefer to do this week.

We may yet do a live stream at some point in the next week – I love editing, but it can be quite concentration-heavy, so a live stream is perfect – but we won’t schedule it until I know I’m up to it.

Incidentally, in this episode of Writer's Club I talk about when I first started writing for TV, and how people I worked with were younger than me, which is why they hadn’t heard of Digitiser. I actually meant “older”. Now… everyone’s younger than me in TV!

Talking of TV and Digitiser, Mr Hairs was on the BBC’s Rip-Off Britain last night, with a rather sad story, if you wanted to watch on iPlayer. He’s also confirmed he’ll definitely be at Digi Live on the Friday, which we had a meeting about last night with Super Page 58 legend Chris Bell. I’ve also spoken to Chris Jerden-Cooke about an idea for the Saturday night, which will be an ambitious conclusion to the David Braben trilogy…

Anyhow. I'm off to shop for some LEDs to fit into my bunker door. Not a metaphor.

Thanks for the link. Definitely, it would have been bad enough without it already being a difficult time, and the trip being so important. :(

Get some rest Paul! No need to run yourself into a wall. Thursday or Friday for Biffo's Brain should work for me.

Please don't crash into a wall, metaphorically or otherwise. Pace yourselves - we're not going anywhere. Sorry to hear about Tim's thing. Scammers are scum. Scummers. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001m6xv/rip-off-britain-2023-episode-7#t=29m16s is a link to the section with Tim in it.
