Beneath the City Unsleeping (preview)
Added 2023-05-16 22:04:55 +0000 UTCHey, folks. We're rolling along on the current Kickstarter campaign and I wanted to share some images of what we're working on here.
It's been over 10 years (?!?) since our last iteration of Pocket-Dungeons, and I felt it was high time we made a version to go along with the current edition of Pocket-Tactics. This City Unsleeping thing felt like a good excuse to dip our toes in, so I went ahead and made a physical prototype. Some things to expect:
- Integration with Pocket-Tactics. We want all of these pieces and rules to be useable in either game, and allow porting in anything from Pocket-Tactics too. Modularity is monarch.
- Lots of game modes, including solo, co-op, competitive, and "game master versus everyone.
- Dynamic scenarios, with one sheet of rules giving you a bespoke experience that changes the terms of adventure counters, monsters, and even narrative stakes.
- Custom heroes! We'll have some pre-mades to get into the action quickly, but we want to open the rules to using any miniatures you want for your delvers (or dwellers!). Best of all, these hero builds can be used in regular Pocket-Tactics, including their various upgrades gained during their delves.
This first stab at the old format will come as an expansion to The City Unsleeping set. Patrons here at the $5+ level will be getting that (the 3d files are already in the reward folders and the set rules are coming soon), but the "Pocket-Dungeons expansion shown here will be going to all "games" patrons ($10+), so if you're a patron at that level and plan on sticking around for the coming months there's no reason to back the current Kickstarter (but we sure do appreciate shares on socials).
