There is actually a sequel for this called Madoka Magica The Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising, though a release date hasn’t been said at all yet. Only thing that’s been released is a small teaser and some cover art

For your case a second re-watch might not be as helpful, and to skip most explanations, it's easier to go right to the ending: In the simplest of terms that you already know, Homura Akemi turned herself into Angra Mainyu. She accepted and became All The Evils of The World, so in turn Madoka would be able to experience all the joys that she had previously sacrificed/given up on. Ultimately giving Madoka a second chance at life, alongside Bebe, Mami, Kyoko, and Sayaka, all who would meet a horrendous and pitiful end originally. Homura's wish, to protect Madoka, can never come true as long as Madoka keeps sacrificing her own happiness for others. Now, though, Homura has positioned herself so that she can ensure Madoka's happiness, no matter how many times Madoka tries to be a martyr. We also know Homura only cares for other people as long as Madoka cares for them, and since Madoka sacrificed herself for *everyone*, it's up to Homura to ensure nobody gets *seriously* hurt, for Madoka's sake. And she can do that now, being essentially an 'Evil' Goddess.
