Palette - Planemo 8

Time for another palette share! Download the complete 140 color palette used in Thyrian Defenders. This is the first custom palette I ever made a few years ago specifically for the game. It might take some getting used to all the colors but you'll discover some really brilliant combinations.

The download includes...
.aco file can be loaded into the swatch panel in Photoshop.
.ase file can be loaded into Aseprite, Illustrator and some other Adobe programs.
.png file can be opened in just about any graphics software. I know Aseprite and Pyxel Edit allow you to import a palette from a png image, and I'm sure many other apps have the same feature.

Thanks again, I'll check those out.

In pixelblog 1 you can see a few example artworks and the color palettes l pulled from Mondo. Any of these are good and can show you how to pick out colors from a large palette. I rarely use more than 16 colors for any one scene. Look for more small palette examples in the near future! In the meantime, also checkout https://lospec.com/palette-list

I agree, it is a bit daunting for me at the moment. Trying the Mondo one for now. Do you have a recommendation for a starting color palette? Does not have to be fancy, just a starting place.

For now, I'll get my other monitors to emulate my mac. I'll dig in more when I understand it better. Appreciate it.

Hey Joseph. I use an iMac with the default 'iMac' color profile. It seems pretty accurate as I've never noticed colors changing much on other monitors. The Planemo 8 palette might be a little daunting for the beginner because of the large amount of colors. I plan on supplying more samples that show off specific color combos that work well. Also I recommend you read Pixelblog 1 if you haven't already.

Thank you for sharing these. I'm just starting in pixel stuff and this is really helpful. Out of curiosity, do you know what color profile you use on your computer? My different monitors seem to really change the colors a lot between them.
