You're not going to believe me, but on Google maps, there is a South Sentinel island. Apparently there is a local restaurant with pretty good reviews. Who knew! π€·ββοΈ https://maps.app.goo.gl/Pe599JWbED86Yja37

How sometimes people only prioritize power and survival, not meaning and created culture. Like building a powerful bridge and forcing people to cross it then burning it, instead of inviting them as you talked. Contact, and also capturing a place from people, can alter the culture so much. Even wipe it out. Thought about the Lascaux paintings too. If it's worth creating reminders or content of something in order to know it enough to still protect it from being changed too much by in-person presence. Being immersed in nature helps us see where life all started. Culture though is fostered by enough people together connecting with one another and forging meaning. The interesting edges. Not letting cultures be seems...off-PUDDING. Look at nature. Nature didn't become complex only by conquering. Its symbiosis is incredible. I love humanity's ability to collaborate forward toward better, even acknowledging history's mixed messiness.
