I really like these episodes (the ones where Matt teaches me stuff)

Matt has been studying Nineveh for quite some time now and we've been talking about it a bit during windshield time.  He finally said "dude let's do Nineveh" and I'm super glad he did.  I had no idea about any of this stuff... and I think it makes for a fascinating conversation.  There's something a bit liberating about not having to know things, and just being given permission to ask any question that comes to mind.  This is super fun and interesting and I hope you enjoy it as well!

I'm listening to the "snatch block" part and looking at drawings of snatch blocks and block and tackle... and my puny accountant brain doesn't get it. It looks like Rube-Goldberg, cold-fusion , free energy shenanigans, lots of flash that should get you nowhere but 2 pulleys poorer. I'm going to have to study up!

Fantastic, I love these history podcasts

Absolutely killer episode. Also, sorry to put this comment here... But I just went back and listened to the Ready Player One book review episode (This time after listening to the book) and i realized that Matt mentioned he had designed and implemented 3 disc golf courses! As a huge disc golfer myself I would love it if Matt would elaborate some on how and why he did that.

Superb episode, really enjoyed it.

Matt, What/where would be the best resource to research more about Ninevah and their culture? Also, what an amazing history lesson!

Saving this for my Monday commute! Looking forward to it!

Came into the podcast as a science guy who knew of Destin from Smarter Every Day. 67 episodes later and I can barely wait for the history episodes! Love the depth and enthusiasm Matt has on these topics. If anyone wants to get more history in their heads, there’s a really cool podcast called Fall of Civilizations Podcast. Highly recommend. Thanks for another awesome episode Destin and Matt!

Matt, you are welcome for my help with that amazing Hello Fresh ad spot. Love Mom.

Stoked. It's interesting that just today I was in Nahum and it was talking about Ninevah getting wiped out. and then it did... and the rebirth of the area is modern day Mosul.
