Man didn’t just travel to a different land man traveled through time (I mean not really cause if you read the art books and other outside content of 2018 and Ragnorok it’s obvious at minimum 300 - 600 years have passed since he left Greece). If the gods that he left alive are still here I’m betting that the demons are their creation and that when Kratos gave hope to the remaining humans it allowed them to create the magic system of Freiren where if they can visualize it they can do it.
