WIP 16
Added 2018-12-10 16:29:13 +0000 UTCa very cool scene from the latest CR episode (don't worry, no spoilers ahead), there's a ton of cinematic scenes lately and i've been really feeling the last two episodes!
the first piece is the basic thumbnail i had to get out of my sysem and it took maybe 10 minutes. i knew i wanted a cool from-below shot, and a photographic darkroom vibe re: colour scheme. i noticed as i went that i lost a lot of the dynamic energy from the first sketch, so that's something to think about.
in the second one the only thing left to do is clean up the edges of the characters' colours and clean up the rimlight. i'll probably tweak the darkness a bit, i don't want the viewer's eye to explode when looking at all this red, but then again, it kinda is the very subject.
my initial thought was to make this into a fake animation screencap, but when it came to diligently making a clean lineart, and i decided not to before i went into a rage. clean lines are just not for me and for those that can effortlessly pull it off i'll always have incredible admiration and fear in my heart.
enough babblin, it's not gonna finish itself. here's hoping i manage to get it done today!
