Procedural Magical Shield | Blender Geo Nodes | Force Field |
Added 2021-12-27 21:54:45 +0000 UTCLet's create a procedural Magical Shield with interactive ripples/waves effect.
This post contains some extra details and project files of the demos I shows in the beginning of the video.

here you can see our zombi cap model from previous video, with procedurally generated shield. Here I have used wave texture to get the ripples. Rendered in Eevee.

here in Tony Stark suiting up to Iron Man scene, I have three layers one with hexagonal metal frame, one color metal layer and original texture (I tweaked the original material little bit) .
I used a "Triangulate" node before using "Dual Mesh" node. This will turn all the quads(four vertices face) to tris(triangular faces).
Dual Mesh node will turn those tris to hexagons, to keep the OG shape some of them probably end-up as penatgons or something like that.
To create this model I found two cc0 models of Iron Man suit and Tony Stark, Unfortunately I really didn't pay attention to this, but seems like these two models have completely different proportions when put together. So I had to do few manual hacks to make those two work together.
feel free to use few mask object instead of one like I did in this example to get more smoother animation.
