little life update + a spooky doodle

I wanted to give you all a quick update, since I've fallen off my usual schedule of posting lately. Everything is OK! I just got back from a short trip to my hometown to visit my father, who is currently in an assisted living facility. He's doing alright. We haven't been very close the past few years, and I hadn't seen him since my mom passed away last year. It was a chance to reconcile, and I'm glad I went.
It was pretty expensive to visit even for just 2 days, so I've got to work hard to recoup that money in our savings! Also, I really need new glasses and have been putting that off. Someone please kick me in the butt so I go get my eyes checked. OTL
On the plus side of things, I recently got a display tablet (the Huion Kamvas Pro 16), and I really like it - I didn't know if a display tablet would be the best fit for me, since I'm used to drawing on digitizer tablets (not directly on the screen), but I feel like it's easier and more enjoyable to draw on this thing. I'm excited about that! I hope it helps my me work faster and helps my posture while I'm drawing.
