Fortnightly Progress - 26th November

• No Haven

You know how I mentioned this was going to be a big one last time? No kidding to put it lightly as this is going to be huge. To name just a few in the last day or so I've been working on a new trading assignment in the Ever Forest, getting the details right including the lore page of a new optainable unique character who will be involved to find to put it lightly, doing stuff for the new content to change how the Ensnared Rose is introduced, new names for the Horned One generator which the new Nymph race are going to share (including ones that will be Nymph only and others will be Horned One only), and more. 

Objective is to get the update out for the end of the month. Given how much there is and how much is still to be done though that might move a bit, but hopefully not by a significant margin.  

• The No Haven Conversion / Picarto Streams

As mentioned last time I've been working on how to get to assignments via the different regions in Twine compared to RAGS. Not been able to do a great deal of progress on this due to the stream schedule not doing so good. Bunch of reasons including me turning a year older last week along with a immediate family member and the resulting downer that what celebrations for that all had to take place vitually.

So got a plan to tackle that. Decided to try something different from giving notice in hours prior to starting one, and trying to keep to a somewhat inflexible schedule. What I'm going to do instead is if I'm not still working on the main update late into the evening, or feel I've done enough on that day, I'll start a stream around the usual time rather than trying to work that out earlier in the evening. 

I do want to get back to doing the ten hours a week, and I'm hoping this extra flexibility will help a lot with that. I remember a good while back I asked if people who watch them would prefer to get closer notification to the stream taking place which ended up being pretty close run so this should be an improvement for them at least. 

• Commissions

July/August Commission Poll - Decadence Like No Other Tagg: In progress and seen some base colours. Artist had a fantastic idea to improve this piece. Even better as I'm pretty sure it was an idea I mentioned way back to someone else and was told it would be too hard and if they did it would add a lot to the price.

September/October Commission Poll - Bar Fuck: As I said last one of these the two artists I thought would be good for this one are both busy with pieces for me already I'm holding off on arranging this one until one of them is done. I did end up trying a new artist for this who I thought could do a good job as an alternative to waiting. Unfortunately they turned me down as they weren't into the concept. Do like their stuff so hopefully next time I try them again it will be something more up their alley. 

September/October Commission Poll - Custom Orders aka The Horny Pair: Hey I was right last time as I have seen a sketch now and it's looking pretty spot on to what I was thinking.

That's right, there's been a change of whose in front thanks to a surge of Asanei loyalists in the Main poll. Just three votes in it so it's lovely for once not to have a clear winner after the first couple of days of voting.

For those not on the patreon: Sweet Elixir involves a Nethemir taking advantage of a City Elf wench, Asanei Duelist is to get a classy member of that race in a before and after where she ends up looking a lot less classy, Raid Nascent Dwarf Fortress involves a fel tainted pale red-eyed dwarf, Marshlands Lamia is to both get an examine and to have an added danger to exploring the Marshlands, Sky-Shaman involves a Icewyld Harpy with a menacing looking bell and would involve a re-write of that assignment to reflect that, A Brief Foray is a Wastelander about to get menaces by many, many Neko, and Savage Orc has her with a prize rear on her broad shoulder.

In other news this week I had a lovely surprise. Not one of mine, but if you remember that fantastic Demi-Angel a patron got done, and has since been absolutely crushing all other commissions I've got done on the Pixiv. Well this week they generously got GrayBear to do an update where she's looking a lot more Fallen. You can see the new piece on the Pixiv and on Twitter. 

• Discord Assignment the 3rd

Speaking of close run polls we had a draw between the two front running pitches. So we're doing another vote to work out which one wins.

Option 4.

They say it's not easy being green, and this is especially true when some ancestor or another decided that raiding is too dangerous and the solution to all that ails you is a good hoe. A metal one, specifically. The wooden ones are no good for farming. The problem for this village of farmers (who just so happen to be orcs) is that noone will sell them any hoes. They keep shouting at them and misunderstanding their requests. So they decided to put out the word amongst the camps that times are dire, and they are in need of some top quality hoes for the next season, and they'll pay top price for them. Nothing can go wrong with this request. Nothing.

Option 6.

An orc chieftain has a younger son who has disclaimed his right to succession in order to make his own career doing most untraditional orc things in human lands. The chieftain is accepting of his son's chosen path in life. He has hired you because he wants a bit of protection for his son.  See, the orc princeling has a dream of starting his own bakery. Despite the typical jokes about "special icing," the confections he produces are actually quite tasty and not even a little bit lewd. However, the young orc is inexperienced in the ways of the wider world and has run afoul of some mid-level bureaucrat who is demanding all sorts of (likely spurious) fees in order for the paperwork to go through properly.  Your new orc friend really really wants his bakery, and his father is willing to pay well for your services. It's your job to bribe, bully, or brainwash the municipal functionary into leaving the bakery alone.
