Catbird Soup preliminary sketch

Inspired by this Reddit post in which someone asks "why do grey catbirds keep putting berries in the bird bath?" with the top rated answer "Soup". I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it was posted!

There are a pair of Catbirds in my backyard- unfortunately I haven't experienced anything near as whimsical. I have seen them poop in the bird bath and immediately drink from it...

This is what I would call a "preliminary" sketch. A sketch before the sketch if that makes any sense! It helps me get a feel for what the composition could be- and I often collage elements from older drawings in a very haphazard way. Excited to sit down and improve it this weekend! :D
