AMA question

I asked the question in tonight's AMA regarding patreon perks. We are currently having discussions around these to see if there is something we can do to improve the experience for you all. I realise not everyone was involved in tonight's AMA so I will ask again here.

Most of our time is dedicated to producing the casefile episodes. So it doesn't leave a lot of room. It is my mission to ensure episodes remain at the highest possible quality.

A lot of you comment that you are just happy to support the show for the show, the content you get most weeks. Which is super awesome. But I will ask again. We  are always looking to improve things. Patreon and crowd funding is still very much new to us.

Comments

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but I would love it if there were ad free episodes posted to patreon!

Lisa

Thank you for all of your comments everyone. Much appreciated. The support we continue to receive blows us away.

Casefile True Crime

I got some casefile stickers in the mail. Just barely I think if you ship anything that fragile (i.e. paper) again you need to use more than a standard letter envelope as my envelope was mangled all to hell and back, it's only dumb luck the stickers weren't mangled severely.

Lyman Green

Couldn't Also help adding that the franskton serial killer Ep will stay with me forever. So sad tragic and the audio was incredible

Mali

I'm a newby. I am a true crime addict and love gen why and s&s . So it only right that I support homegrown quality true crime podcasting. I love learning about my own back yard being a melburnian. My sister and niece and I have great discussions together. Like.. Have you listened to the Daniel morcomb case omg. Slick detective work! The mr big technique. Keep up the good work my 2 bucks per month is worth it!

Mali

I just love you guys. You do a great job. I don't care about perks I'll support regardless of perks.

Erica Ocaranza

I'm good with how things are now. I would much rather you keep up the great work on your awesome podcast than worry about gifts or whatever. Love the show!

Wendy Sanders

You guys are great by far one of my favorite podcasts to listen to.

Jacqueline Ortiz

Reading a few comments I would go with keep gifts simple and inexpensive. I support the show for the show. All I want as a "gift" is a new episode as fast as possible. Quality always ocer quantity obviously but quality and quantity aren't really an issue for me

Pickett

Your podcast is outstanding! Wish I had 'something' to suggest - but - love the work you're doing now. Also, I appreciate the response on Facebook - always very positive even when a comment is a critique. Actually printing the scripts (with supporter 'credits' at the back) as supporter 'gifts' or 'prizes' could be cool, although can be expensive. Or draw a supporter name once a month and print them their favorite script?? But yes.....what Carol said, "Don't fix it if it's not broken"! xo

Karna Grenier

Well said Jay!! I couldn't have said it better!!

Carol

I'm happy the way you are handling things! You put out a quality show and I believe in "don't fix it if it's not broken"!!

Carol

The best "perks" are weekly episodes! Thank You!

Benjamin D.

Like the others, I support you guys for the show, not the perks. Keep up the great work!

Peter Hinchley

It stands for Ask Me Anything :)

Kristen Ahlstrom

Once again I missed the AMA...lol. Oh well. Just wanted to throw my 3cents into the conversation by saying that I personally help out because of the show itself. You guys do a fabulous job. Of course it must be difficult on your end to maintain all this on a weekly basis. Im sure all you guys have busy lives away from Casefile and im willing to bet you're at the point where the show, the fans, and even the "work" that goes into it all is great/fun/amazing... but its not quite paying the bills. Im sure, especially for the amount of time its all taking up in your lives that you literally NEED it to start benefiting in more ways than just "buzz!" Ugh...tough. You will always have us...maybe some could give more, I surely will. Heck, its only a few bucks a month. Geez. I buy my loser work-buddies lunch 3 days a week! I hope it all works out where you can keeps this thing afloat. You all deserve to be able to quit your day-jobs and focus on what u love. This is a great show!...oh and a T-shirt would be great too! Just sayin' 😉.

Jay

I concur with all of the above. However; if ever you felt like feeling the daylight on your skin, some meet and greet evenings would be amazing 😍

Sharon Eves

I pay to support the show :) got a couple of stickers which was nice but yeah mainly for me it's the show and perks are just a bonus. If they're going to take away time from production then I don't want them :) Podcast first :D

Hael Smith

I'm honestly so pleased to support the show. I choose to donate because it's a quality show not for any perks.

Chihana

What is an AMA?

laura jenkins

I chose to support Casefile because I love it and in my mind there is no other podcast that comes close. I wasn't thinking about what else I could get out of it. I want to do my bit to make sure that the quality and existence of this podcast remains. (If not already, I think Casefile singlets should exist. ) ;)

Laura Carlson

I think you can gather that we're all here for one reason! I too support your Patreon because I want to see a great program continue and succeed. I look forward to every episode you put out and casefile is so well researched and presented that it is above and beyond my favourite podcast! So you don't need to spend time on the perks, just keep putting out the gold you are!

Vanessa

The perks are nice, but as you said people just like support the podcast and that would be me. Keep up the great work with the files and if time permits fire off an extra , but that is definitely on the bottom of my list.

Brett_T

Like every other patron supporter above. I subscribe to "help" in any small way an independent, australian' gem' of a a show continue. The high standards that you maintain in your research, your commitment to presenting facts , sets your team apart from any podcast in the genre. One extra stand out, is the way you interact with your supporters here and on occasion on the (unofficial) fan page. The time. talent and care you produce your podcast with, is evident in the way you engage with your supporters. Keep the notes for hearing impaired and to decipher the loveable Aussie accents, the scripts are what I would call above and beyond...But thats why we are here, the Casefile team does just that above & beyond. Thank you to all the team.

MMH

I contribute because I love your show and don't want you to stop making them or change any little thing about them. I have a 3 hour commute to work in the mornings and when I started this commute a year ago, this podcast helped! I have something to do besides sit in traffic. You're not the only one I listen to now because I'm all caught up but you were my first podcast ever, you opened me up to the world of podcasts which I enjoy tremendously! Thank you for all your hard work and great show!

Alma Holevinski

I'm just happy to support (in a small way!) the great job you all do. The only reward I ask for is the same excellent content and definitely the same narrator! That being said, I do enjoy the scripts, notes, etc. If you really want to provide something extra, more of that might be something you could consider. Thank you so much!

Linda Fitzhenry

I pay to support your show rather than receive additional benefits, so from my perspective, nothing else is required. Just the same great content 😁

Kishi

For my, my perks are that I am helping an amazing podcast continue to roll. That's the only perk I need!

Donny Pascale

I agree with the others, I wish I could help you guys further to the 10k so you stop taking breaks on me (strangely, around the same time John Oliver is off too, this time, so I had nothing to listen to on my walks!). If you feel like you need something tangible to share, I'd love a pin/badge to go with my little collection, and help spread the word about your AMAZING podcast! Literally the only podcast I listen to!

Holly

I support the show just because of how thankful I am of its content, there is no other podcast like this and I really want it to keep existing! Also, the presenter is the best, please don’t change it!

Eugenia Grieff

I support your show because it's fantastic. I'm not fussed whether there are perks or not. I will always be listening. Thanks always for a wonderful podcast.

Emma Clayton

Still happy to support the show. ❤️

Megan

I am most probably out of the target market to ask you can include/improve casefiles mainly because it is top quality what you are producing. The only thing I could offer is to increase the monthly contribution. I for one am willing to contribute more. I have to confess though I live in fear that you will change the presenter. You have assured me you won't so please stick to that. His voice and pitch and tone is just perfect and adds to the intrigue.
