Joyce/Walky "Notty!" redrawn panel, pencils
Added 2023-11-17 16:37:41 +0000 UTCI'm flirting with the idea of redrawing one panel from page 6 of "Notty!" if only because I'm wondering if I can, like, de-DumbingofAge-ify the characters in an artistically satisfying way. In these rough pencils, it's so far manifesting in, uh, unlearning how I've adapted the way I've drawn their hair over the past 13 years.
Also, wondering how/if I can take into account how their bodies may differ between universes. Walkyverse Joyce and Walky were way more physically active than their Dumbiverse counterparts! Are they a little leaner or more muscly by a bit? Or is this scene set far enough after their SEMME careers that it doesn't matter as much anymore? also here they'd be like 7 years older than in dumbing of age so not sure exactly how that resolves

There were quite a few Joyce and Walky! strips about Joyce trying to get them to exercise to keep in shape! And at least once it involved showing them lifting very heavy objects.

Of course, if the Martians just gave them perfect musculature, then how long it’s been since Semme doesn’t matter, they’ll die of old age looking like a badly photoshopped advertisement for a Total Gym.
