As much as the original story is located anywhere, it would be around Oxford, as that is where it was conceived, and although the girl the story was written for, Alice Lidell, was born in London her family moved to Oxford shortly after. The story itself is based in a dream world that bears no relation to London, but the asylum itself has every right to be there

If you are going to incorporate tarot style cards into the game why not make them fulfil a similar function to tarot cards on the kabalistic Tree of Life inasmuch as their possession allows for passage between realms. Also, if you're going to use the minor arcana why not make the suits (Vorpal) Blades, Jacks, Dice and Tiddlywinks? Tiddlywinks would also make an interesting weapon, as would Dice, with powerful, but unpredictable outcomes, which could add something to the horror of the game

Thought i'd add here a comment I made in the stream when the question came up about if we will see London in this game. Which was answered mainly with a no. Since we are going back to the beginning of the story, i'd love to see some sort of prologue where we see Alice before the fire. Maybe take part in her life, talk to her parents, see her home etc that would be set in London obviously. Would be great fan service :)

Loving the tarot card. That is one of my favorite art style. Shane Tyree is an artist I know that draws in that similar art style, haven't heard from him in a very long time.

These tarot cards are amazing, can't wait to see more! I think I'd personally prefer them coloured, but the sepia aesthetic still looks great.

Looking forward to seeing the entire Tarot set! I've been wanting to buy one lately too :) Maybe needs some blood splatter or stains though. See you tomorrow.

The Yellow color on the dress sold me. The 3 skulls on her bow makes it better. I'm guessing this is the best design for the game for now. BTW what does the curved silver ring represent? Also will the skull finally talk?

Love love love all the art! And would love an Alice tarot card set (although I've yet to learn how to use tarot cards, I've always wanted to). The only thing I'd say about the hatter image (and this is sort of nit picky, but I figured I'd mention it) is that the chain that comes down and goes behind his nose is a bit distracting to the hatter's iconic silhouette, and overall detracts from him as the focal point. I'd remove it or make it shorter so it doesn't confuse the design. :)

Holy shiznits. Does this mean there might end up being an Alice tarot deck to have!?!?! Because I would be ALL over that. Wont be able to make the stream as I am doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show performance that day (I'm Janet ;) ) but I'll see y'all later.

Well, as an original and unrelated comment (and one that will hopefully be addressed & that I’ve been wondering about for a while): What exactly is Charles Dodgson’s canonicity in the “Alice” universe? McGee has said images of Dodgson within the first game were errors/oversights and dismissed them as non-canon, but in AMR Lizzie references Dodgson by name in an Oriental Grove Memory and how poor of a sailor he is (referencing the boat trip Dodgson and the Liddells took irl on which the stories were, I believe, born).

Forgot to say that I love the yellow for the denial dress. I think it could be Alice's start dress in the game, right after the fire. Loving the art for the tarot cards as well, I'm very hyped for those.

Please don't reiterate! A lot of Patrons don't get their comment read because of that. And if you really want your suggestions to make it into the game, the less publicity they get, the better. By the way, that silver age during which people lived most of their lives "under the dominion of their mothers" applies better to the first game I think.

As a Tarot cards user I would live a deck like this one! Just remember tarots that are sold a lot normally have a great back of the cards... and I can't wait to see what Joey comes up with!

To reiterate what I wrote on the dress post to make sure it gets read: I LOOOOVE the Denial Dress's design and irl origins! Apologies for the possibly long comment, I just hope it gets considered for reading! If I had to say anything about the symbols (which I currently like), it's that if they were to be replaced, I suggest symbols relating to Janus, Bronze, and/or Silver. Janus is the god of beginnings, transitions, time, duality, and endings, and has two faces as he's simultaneously looking at the past and the future; Bronze is, if I recall, associated with preservation, and the shoes a baby first learns to walk in were typically bronzed to preserve the memory; Silver, however, was already mentioned in the picture, and coincidentally, the Silver Age was one (technically 2) of Hesiod's 5 "Ages of Man", where people first lived as children for 100 years until the suddenly aged and died, and then for the first time sought shelter (houses) from the outside world. Sounds kinda perfect to me.

I wasn’t sure about the tarot card concept at first, but the more I look at the cards, the more I like them! Thanks Joey! I’ve missed the last two livestreams due to moving and getting a new job near Washington, D.C., but I’m not going to miss this one. Looking forward to it so much. Lastly, thanks Omri for the amazing denial dress. It’s definitely one of my favorites! Question: I already follow Omri on social media, but do the other artists have public pages/portfolios as well?
