HeroesCon Haul, 2018
Added 2018-06-20 17:12:42 +0000 UTCA humble-yet-solid haul from my trip to HeroesCon. We've got My Hero Academia, Vol. 11-13, as well as the Devilman, Classic Collection Vol. 1.
I feel like I've evangelized about My Hero Academia a number of times, but I cannot stress how great it is, and I PARTICULARLY feel that if you like my work, you'd absolutely love it. The elevator pitch is that in the future, most of the human population has super powers, and being a superhero is a legitimate career path. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, who was born without a super power, but wants nothing more than to be a beacon for hope and peace like his role model, the greatest hero of all-time, All Might, but to do so, he needs to find a way to get enrolled into UA, the premiere hero training school. The art is great, the characters are lovable, and the whole things just overflows with heart and compassion. I cannot recommend it enough.
As for Devilman, I honestly don't know much about it other than that it's a cornerstone franchise of manga and anime, and I've always been curious. I saw this collection at the shop and thought I'd give it a shot. The art is definitely awesome, and I'm hoping the story will be, too. I'll be sure to keep you posted!
What do you all think? Would you like for me to discuss entertainment media that I enjoy and think you may as well? Things like other comics, manga, music, movies, games? I definitely plan on doing it at least a little bit, because I love to turn people on to what I think is great content, but if you'd like for me to make it a more regular thing, I'd love to know.
