DC Under Doom Chapter 2: The King's Reveal.

Chapter 2: The King's Reveal.

-0-

What was supposed to be Earth’s darkest hour had become something else entirely. The Justice League had survived, but they had not won.

Someone else had.

The Parademons were gone. Darkseid’s generals had been cast back to Apokolips, their invasion force utterly dismantled.

The hacked Mother Boxes lay dormant, their connection to Apokolips severed.

Everywhere across the world, Doombots still stood in formation, unmoving, waiting.

And in the center of it all, Doctor Doom stood victorious.

A cold wind blew through the ruined cityscape of Latveria. Buildings were reduced to rubble. Streets were cracked and broken.

The fires of war still burned, flickering in the distance. And yet, Latveria had suffered no casualties.

Doom’s voice broke the heavy silence.

“It is done.”

The words were simple. Absolute.

The Justice League having followed after him, stood across exhausted but alert.

Batman’s mind raced.

He had spent years preparing for threats like Darkseid. Years strategizing, building contingency plans.

But nothing had prepared him for this.

For Doom.

Superman, now free from Apokolips and hovering in the air, crossed his arms. His cape fluttered behind him, his eyes glowing red. “You expect us to thank you?”

Doom did not look impressed. His gaze met Superman’s, unwavering. “I expect nothing from you, Kryptonian.” He turned away, already finished with the conversation.

Superman’s fists clenched. He wasn’t used to being dismissed. “You invaded the battlefield without warning. You unleashed your machines across the world. That’s not heroism, Doom. Coordination and Teamwork is.”

Doom stopped walking. “Do not speak to me of heroism.”

His voice was calm, but edged with something dangerous.

“You fumbled in the dark, unprepared, outmatched. You call yourselves the world’s protectors, yet you failed at every turn. You lost. I merely ensured that Earth did not fall because of your weakness.”

Superman floated forward, closing the distance. “Earth didn’t fall because we fought for it.”

Doom turned slightly, and though his mask obscured his expression, there was no mistaking the contempt in his voice. “No, Superman. It did not fall because Doom was here.”

The tension in the air was palpable.

Green Lantern took a cautious step forward. “Alright, let’s all take a breath here before things get worse.”

Doom ignored him.

He raised his hand. Immediately, every Doombot across the world moved in unison, activating hidden thrusters and ascending into the sky. In seconds, they vanished into the atmosphere, leaving behind only silence.

Batman narrowed his eyes. Doom had just proven that his army could deploy and disappear at will. That meant there was no telling when—or where—he would act next.

Diana took a step forward. Unlike the others, she wasn’t angry. She was studying him.

“You rule a hidden kingdom,” she said. It wasn’t a question.

Doom finally turned to face her. For the first time, his gaze softened.

“Yes.”

She tilted her head slightly. “A hidden kingdom that protected its people, untouched by Darkseid’s war.”

Doom inclined his head. “Latveria does not suffer invasion. If it does, repercussions follow for the one responsible.”

Something flickered in her expression. Understanding.

Doom had done what Themyscira always strived for—a paradise untouched by war, ruled by strength.

“You built what others could not,” she said finally.

Doom was silent for a moment. Then, with a nod, he said: “Yes.”

Batman interrupted before the conversation could go further. “What’s your next move?”

Doom turned his gaze to the Dark Knight. For the first time, there was something amused in his voice.

“Tell me, Detective—do you always assume you control the board?”

Batman said nothing.

Doom continued. “I have no interest in playing your little game. The war is over. Latveria will return to its peace.”

Then he stepped past them, walking through the rubble as if it were beneath him. He paused only once, glancing over his shoulder.

“But make no mistake. This world has seen what Doom is capable of.” His voice lowered. “In time, it will learn to bow.”

And with that, he was gone.

The Justice League stood in the ruins of the battlefield, watching the beginning of a new world order.

One where Doctor Doom had made his presence known.

The war had ended, but its consequences had only begun.

Across the globe, news networks struggled to explain what had just happened.

The Justice League had fought, yes—but it was not they who had ended the invasion. Every report, every replay of the battle, every piece of footage showed the same truth.

It was Doom.

The footage of his Doombots annihilating the Parademons played on endless loops. Experts debated who Doom was, what Latveria truly was, and what this meant for the balance of power.

Vandal Savage stood in the shadows of his war chamber, watching Doom’s speech replay. His ancient eyes were narrowed. Doom was a threat unlike any other—a king, a conqueror, a tactician. And worst of all, he had the power to back his ambition. Savage’s lip curled.

“I have ruled longer than he has existed. Let us see how he fares against history itself.”

Amanda Waller, inside the heavily secured bunker of Task Force X, was silent. Around her, government agents were already drawing up plans to infiltrate Latveria. But Waller knew better. Doom was not like Luthor, or even Darkseid.

“We need contingencies,” she muttered, her mind racing.

Lex Luthor slammed his fists against his desk, rage consuming him. Blueprints for a captured Doombot lay in front of him—useless. The technology was beyond his own, beyond anything he had ever encountered.

“This is unacceptable,” Luthor hissed. “No man surpasses Lex Luthor.”

But Doom had. And that fact gnawed at him.

Queen Bee watched from her golden throne, her lips curling into a smirk. Doom was too strong to be controlled by force—but what of persuasion?

“Even the greatest kings fall to temptation,” she mused. “And if they do not… their people do.”

Ares, the God of War, sat atop his throne in the divine realm. His fingers tapped against the armrest. He could feel the presence of Doom, the weight of his will.

This mortal does not seek war… but he does not fear it.

That is dangerous.

And finally, Darkseid, on Apokolips, sat on his throne. His wounded pride, the first he had suffered in eons, still burned. His eyes glowed with fury.

Doom had humiliated him.

Doom had defied a god.

The greatest warlord of the cosmos clenched his fists.

“You will suffer for this, Doom.”

“I swear it.”

Back in the Justice League Watchtower, Superman paced. His mind was troubled. “We need to know more about Latveria,” he said. “We can’t just let this go.”

Batman sat at the main console, already analyzing the data. “We don’t have a choice.”

Superman turned sharply. “What do you mean?”

Batman’s jaw tightened. “Because we can’t stop him.”

The room fell silent.

Wonder Woman, standing with her arms crossed, finally spoke. “He is not like the others.”

Batman nodded. “No, he’s not.” His voice was grim. “And that makes him more dangerous than anyone we’ve faced before.”

Behind him, the Batcomputer displayed a new entry in the Agamemnon Contingency.

[Code Name: Jade Emperor]

[Threat Level: Unknown]

And at the center of it all, in his throne room in Castle Doom, Victor Von Doom watched.

The holographic screens before him flickered, each displaying a different reaction from Earth’s most dangerous minds.

He stood and walked to stand before the grand balcony of Latveria. Below him, his people cheered his name, their voices filled with adoration and loyalty.

Doom listened, silent. Unmoved.

Behind him, a Doombot approached. “The world is watching, Your Excellency.”

Doom’s eyes never left the horizon. He already knew.

He was always watching.

Always.
