What's going on with the Karen Puzzles Puzzle?
Added 2022-10-26 18:09:05 +0000 UTCWow, what a weekend. I competed in my first ever jigsaw puzzle contest, and I launched the Karen Puzzles Puzzle!
First the good news - I placed SECOND in the individual division, just 34 seconds behind Yvonne! I could not believe it as I was getting close to the end and no one else had finished yet. I definitely think I got lucky because the picture is the exact type of blocky, colorful illustration that I love.
I’ll be making two videos about the event - one about the Teams event the first day and one about the Pairs/Individual events the second day. I filmed all of my puzzle solves on my phone and also had a cameraperson there, plus all the livestream footage, so there is a LOT to go through.

And as a special bonus for my Patrons, I got Yvonne’s footage of her puzzle and synced it up with mine so we can see just how close we were before she beat me. This is the unedited final 10 minutes of our solves, where it really was super close all the way through.
(Note how eerily quiet it was without being able to hear the livestream commentary and without anyone talking to each other like in the Pairs and Teams events)
And now, onto the bad news. I launched the Karen Puzzles Puzzle, released by Ravensburger, but literally 10 minutes before the video was supposed to go up, I saw that the Amazon pre-order page said that the puzzle was not available. I called up my contact at Ravensburger to find out what was going on, and she told me that they were working on it and it should be back up that night. Well…four days later and the pre-order link still is not working. Believe me, I have sent many strongly worded emails to my contacts at Ravensburger, but they’ve told me it’s entirely in Amazon’s hands and no one knows what the problem is. So the launch has not gone to plan, to say the least.
I have more videos, tons of photos, and tons of short social videos which I will be posting as soon as the pre-order link is working. I feel like I’m in this strange limbo, where I want people to be excited about it, but I also don’t want to promote it too much and waste all that exposure when no one can actually order it. It is extremely frustrating, but there should be plenty of puzzles to go around if you’re interested in getting one.
