[Vamp in Marvel] Ch: 1 [Awakening]

AN: Just a trial read. I wanted to write a vampire theme ff in Marvel. And someone requested me last month I think. So, I was working on something. Anyway, gonna write some chs for now.

As for Synopsis, you'll get it in this chapter. Hellsing x Noblesse: Marvel

Once again, my editor is on vacation, so, I did my best to edit the chapter as good as possible.

----

It was well into the morning before the sun began its descent through the thicker trees of an unfamiliar forest. The trees’ long shadows fell on the firm ground as the wind drifted by with a light touch on the occasional leaf, rustling through ominously. The whole world seemed to be awaiting something in its held breath. Then, in the dead center of that silence, a figure stirred.

Cadis Etrama di Raizel, the Noblesse, opened his eyes.

His dark, crimson irises glittered, focusing as the faint light filtering through the canopy above shaded out the sun. He blinked slowly, fully aware of his surroundings. The place was foreign to him, yet no sense of urgency was reflected in his actions. No urgency ever existed for him. He was eternal—time, in its linear, mortal form, had no hold on him.

But something felt off. The trees, the sky—everything seemed wrong. He had awoken in unfamiliar places before, but this was not a simple shift in location. This was not Lukedonia, nor was it anywhere in the human world he had seen.

He was on Earth, but not the Earth he remembered.

Rai sprang to his feet with his characteristic elegance, his uniform pristine despite lying on the forest floor. His senses unfolded, his power spilling effortlessly into the surroundings. He reached out with his mind, searching for something familiar. The wide web of energy he commanded spread like tendrils through the landscape, feeling for any trace of Frankenstein, or even Regis and Seira. But there was nothing.

Only humans.

Countless humans, scattered in a distant city. No trace of Nobles, no modified humans, no threats.

And yet…

There was something.

A presence lingered on the edge of his perception, distant but unmistakably powerful. He had never encountered anything like it before. It was older, darker, and extremely dangerous. But for now, it seemed content to simply observe. Rai's expression remained unchanged. Whoever—or whatever—this presence was, it would reveal itself in time. For now, he needed to understand where he was and why he had been drawn here.

His footsteps were silent as he moved through the forest, the trees parting naturally as if they, too, recognized the Noblesse. He emerged into a clearing, and in the distance, he saw it: a sprawling metropolis teeming with life. Towering skyscrapers gleamed in the fading sunlight, and the distant hum of cars and people drifted through the air.

A human city.

It was not unlike the cities he had seen in his previous awakenings in the human world, yet something was distinctly different. It was more advanced, yet colder. He had no memory of how much time had passed since his last awakening, but it was clear that the world had changed.

And so had its balance.

Rai continued walking, his feet carrying him toward the city. He could sense the threads of fate twisting around him, pulling him towards something inevitable. The presence he had felt earlier remained at the edges of his consciousness, watching him from afar. It wasn’t close enough to be an immediate threat, but its power was undeniable. And it was waiting.

For what, Rai did not know. But he would soon find out.

...

Meanwhile, in the Depths of Hell...

Alucard, the No-Life King, stood amidst the carnage of hell with a grin stretched wide across his face. His crimson eyes gleamed like coals in the infernal light, drinking in the chaos around him. The scent of sulfur and blood filled the air, a smell that should have repulsed most, but to Alucard, it was intoxicating.

The landscape of hell was a grotesque reflection of the living world—twisted mountains of bone, rivers of molten fire, and fields littered with the screaming souls of the damned. To most, this was an unendurable torment. To Alucard, it was an old, familiar song.

Hell had never been able to hold him. He had fought through it more times than he cared to count, each time returning to the world of the living with a renewed thirst for blood. But this time, something was different. The layers of hell were not as chaotic as he remembered. There was a structure to this madness now, an order imposed by something far more sinister than the usual rabble of demons.

And that something sat on a throne of bone and fire, staring down at him with eyes that glowed like hot coals.

“Mephisto,” Alucard greeted the demon lord with a mocking grin. He stretched his arms wide, his body shimmering as he shifted forms—tall and shadowed, with his wide-brimmed hat and crimson overcoat billowing out behind him. “I must say, it’s a rather impressive setup you’ve got here. But it’s a bit too… organized for my tastes.”

How do they know each other? Well, during one of his bloodbath adventures, he came accross Mephesto through a space and time crack.

Mephisto leaned forward on his throne, his sharp, angular face illuminated by the flames that crackled around him. His red skin glistened as the fires danced, and his smile was sharp, almost serpentine. “Ah, Alucard. I expected you’d arrive eventually.”

“Eventually?” Alucard raised an eyebrow, the amusement never leaving his voice. “You speak as though you knew I was coming.”

Mephisto’s smile widened, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and something else. Something darker. “Not coming. Returning.”

Alucard’s grin faltered for a fraction of a second, the only sign that Mephisto’s words had piqued his curiosity. “Oh? And here I thought this was just a routine visit.”

The demon lord chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that echoed through the air like distant thunder. “Hell has been… changing, Alucard. And so has the world above. A force older than either of us has stirred, and it has upset the balance in ways I have never seen.”

Alucard’s eyes gleamed with interest. “Older than us? Now that is something I’d like to see.”

Mephisto stood, his massive form towering over the landscape of fire and brimstone. “It has drawn you here, as it has drawn others. But unlike the souls who wander through these flames, you are not bound to this place. Not yet.”

Alucard tilted his head, his grin widening once more. “So, this isn’t your doing? Someone else invited me to this little party?”

Mephisto’s smile faded slightly, and his eyes darkened. “No. It wasn’t me. But I can sense its presence. It’s ancient, older than anything in this realm, and it lies beyond the world of the living. If you seek it, you will find it soon enough.”

Alucard chuckled, his body shifting again as he paced around the throne. “Well then, seems like I’ve got some unfinished business upstairs.” His crimson eyes flickered with excitement. “Care to point me in the right direction, demon?”

Mephisto watched him for a moment, his expression unreadable. “The way is open to you, Alucard. But beware. This force will not be like the enemies you’ve faced before. It is not something that can be killed so easily.”

"Heheheh! Hahahahaha! The almighty demon is afraid? Now, that's something new," Alucard’s laughter echoed through the inferno, sharp and cold.

"I wonder if you would be able to maintain that same grin after facing him..."

“Oh, I’m counting on it.”

Without waiting for a reply, Alucard’s body dissolved into a cloud of shadow, melting into the dark recesses of hell. His laughter echoed behind him, lingering in the air long after he had vanished from sight.

Mephisto remained on his throne, his eyes narrowing as he stared into the flames before him. “Foolish vampire,” he muttered. “You have no idea what you’re walking into.”

...

Back on Earth.

As the sun began to set below the horizon, Rai finally reached the outskirts of the city, now draped in a blanket of twilight. The city was alive, yet so different from the natural harmony to which he was accustomed in Lukedonia. The humans here never stayed in one place but were always on their way to one location or another, their minds always filled with the trivialities of everyday life.

He stepped onto the pavement, passed by the masses of people as if he didn't exist. His presence masked—an easy cloak to don and walk among them sans any disturbance. For now, there really isn't a need to draw attention.

Here, the presence was thicker, more concentrated. It felt like a heavy weight pressed down on the city, though the humans in it were mercifully unaware of it. Their lives continued unbroken, ignorant that the forces of antiquity stirred around them in unforgiving coordination.

Rai paced down the city streets, his gaze scanning the skyline for any sign of what had drawn him here. Towering skyscrapers shone in the waning light and cast long shadows down to the streets. He could feel with each step the threads of fate twisting tighter around him to something inevitable.

And then, he saw it. A form silhouetted at the other end of the street, deeper inside the darkness. The air rumbled with energy around this figure, and Rai could feel the weight of its presence upon his sensitivities. It wasn't human; no man could hold that much power.

The figure stepped forward with a swirl of body, like smoke in dark air, as Rai went closer. Its face was hidden under a wide-brimmed hat; a crimson overcoat flew behind it like wings of blood.

Rai stopped, his eyes slitting narrowly as he fixated on the figure before him. The No-Life King had arrived.
