6/10/21 - Comms + Plans

Hello! I've just finished up the last of my current experimental commissions, these were both a really good experience for me to learn from! Moving forward, I will continue to experiment with different types of lighting and rendering styles. If you have any lighting or style ideas you'd like to see me try on a future experimental comm, I'd be interested to hear it!

Which leads into my next topic, commission ideas! If I were to open a new commission type, whether it be more complex scenes, or a simpler style, What would you be interested in seeing? There's a lot of things I'm really excited to try out!  So let me know and I may just be willing to try it ^^

A few ideas that come to mind are:
- a really rough but rendered sketch that could lend itself to a quicker, but more complex piece
- multiple characters interacting (with each other, or environment)
- stylistic profile Icons/expressions
- An actual actual sketch page (that isn't lineart)

Let me know in the next day or so if you're interested in getting a commission ^^ I'll be continuing doing studies over the next few days, and will experiment with some of the ideas I previously mentioned if I'm not working on comms by then!

On a side note, I previously thought I'd be opening experimental comms to the public, but quickly found that I'm getting enough work from you all to keep me occupied for the rest of the month!  When I first started doing commissions, I didn't think I'd end up with 4 of the coolest people to support me on Patreon ^^ Thank you so much!

Moving forward, I'll likely continue focusing on experimental commissions for the rest of the month as long as I can continue trying new things. By early/mid july, I'll most likely be opening full priced commissions again. Patreon members will have priority for the waitlist, and then the public a day after. That's the plan anyways! I definitely wouldn't mind not having to open comms again for another month, you all are awesome. ^^

Thank you for the detailed response Luther! I'll definitely be taking your advice and suggestions into consideration. being able to efficiently pump out nicer sketches that aren't necessarily full lineart is something I especially want to work towards in the next couple months!

D'aww, happy to be a part of your support team. <3 ^^ A few opinions: -Multiple characters are great for business. $$$ -Sketch pages and / or single rendered sketches are great for showing off a character's personality in an inexpensive and timely manner. My friends love Ohmuu because their work is nice-enough-looking for the price, is cheap, and have a quick turnaround time. That's largely do to the simple sketch art style. Being able to pump out nicer sketches that aren't necessarily full lineart might be a great option to help keep your commissions flowing smoothly. -Profile Icons/Expressions can be great money, especially since people are starting to enjoy investing in getting Expressions as both Discord emotes or Telegram stickers. All of these are great ideas and all viable! I suggest you try them out and see what you enjoy making most.
