This was an interesting kind of cross lighting. I tried to stay in the shadows because the light from the windows could be very hard, unless a cloud came by, and as you can tell, the light was stronger through one window than the other.
I love the tones of this set. I wish I could make my apartment like this. That's the craziest part of traveling, is how often I wish I could bring ideas and things home with me. I often go to a place and think how beautiful it looks. I'm glad I never have time to re-do my apartment, because I'd lose all my money re-designing it so frequently. This studio is stunning though, with a lot of natural light. It'd take me some time to really find the best lighting in each spot, and then I'm sure it'd change with the seasons. This studio is a three story mansion in Lancaster, OH (near Columbus). It is really incredible. Plus acres and acres of land that has been landscaped into a photographic wonderland! It's truly a dream and for a very low price. It's a shame it feels so far away from me and everything. In a way, I try to think of places like this as treasures to enjoy in the moment. They're hard to get to for me, but wonderful to experience. I feel like I subconsciously learn something from everywhere I go, and it lives on in my memory, influencing each new art I create.
This is a set of images inspired by this spot. I could've shot more. I have been advised to start working on not just these reference sets for people to use here on Patreon, but make sets to be bought on my website. I am looking for downtime to sit down and plan something like this. I feel like spots like Proparazzi are perfect for creating these kinds of sets. I really love being able to help other artists feel inspired or have a model for their projects. For now, I still have private commissioned sets available for purchase where you can choose the theme and the setting (within limits).
