Beat It (solo) - early viewing

Hi!

Once I started doing the solo videos (Crazy Train, Cowboys etc.) I wanted to try this solo... I didn't know that it's gonna be this difficult to change. I started working on this one 3 weeks ago. Got frustrated and gave up after a week. Made some other stuff like the short videos, the Floods loop. After another week I played it once again. I don't know how it happened but something clicked and this solo finally started to make sense. I changed the timing of some parts and made a "no tapping" rule. To be 100% honest with you, I'm not a fan of the original Van Halen solo on this song. I love me some Van Halen, don't get me wrong, but this is one of the few solos of Eddie, that I just dislike. For me it sounds more like a series of rapid fire licks, rather then a coherent solo. I know that it's iconic, but pretty much most of MJ's songs are. Maybe this was my main problem with transcribing and playing this solo. But in the end I like that my version is more on the groovy side. It's more bouncy and less shreddy.

...Yeah, that was my rant on why I dislike the Beat It solo, hehehe. The tab will be available tomorrow. Cheers!
