If it isn’t clear, that first twitter avi is supposed to be a woman’s ass in a skirt. No special reason, I guess— I just feel like I see the kinds of avatars pop up a lot on norm twitter. I suppose that makes Archibaldo a woman’s name? There is no intention here to make a point about whether these kinds of sex-sells twitter girls have a disproportionally more pedestrian media diet, or worse opinions, or anything of that nature. I haven’t the faintest what these types of women actually think, as this information lies largely within their “tweets”column, which I suspect most people don’t bother with.

Ah, another Beany classic. A comic on social media, about social media trends, which exists fully within a facsimile of such social media. It’s slop, and are the piggies who lap it up any better than the people it mocks? Am I?

Working on GUE has ruined me. How can I go back to making stuff like this after finding creative work that is, despite being far more labor intensive, leagues more creatively gratifying? I’m tired of drawing shit I don’t want to draw. I’m sure I’ll be singing a different tune when I’m several pages into GUE 4, desperate to work on something simple and low-effort, but for now, this feels like a long-overdue turning point for me creatively. I don’t have the life essence inside me to pour into one-offs like this anymore. I need to draw inspiration from elsewhere. This means working within a narrative structure, with characters and themes. It might also mean working on more nonfiction-y stuff, more in the Two Friends vein. Maybe it means trying to work collaboratively more. I feel excited about my creative future, though as my work becomes less accessible to the dumboid masses, naturally more concerned about retaining enough of an audience to make that kind of stuff materially practical. I wonder if someone would hire me? To do what, I haven’t the faintest clue.

New Girl is just one of those shows I have beef with. Every male character gives off major “enslaved” vibes.
