A bit of pin design work...
Added 2020-02-25 16:07:35 +0000 UTCI've decided to have a few quick and more (or less) generic pins made for MagicCon this April, so the Valar will get done later this spring, for release in May (I hope). MagicCon is a Tolkien-centric general Fantasy audience, so I wanted some stuff that general Fantasy fans and those who are fans of the movies might connect to. I'll meet all the ultra-nerds at Tolkien Tage in June anway, so I can leave the Valar for later.
I sent off the three dragon varieties to the pin company today, along with... flowers! The flower discussion for the Nienna pin was really cool and gave me ideas - I wanted TINY pins! Really, really minuscule pins to just pin alongside the others. So I went for simbelmyne, niphredil, and elanor, all just 15 mm along (think thumbnail). I designed a neat little backing card for them too. The Valar, by the way, will get individual backing cards as well, with their names and "portfolios". I can't wait to design them! I have so many ideas already. I will probably go with rain and a single white flower for Nienna. (Anyone else have Guns'n'Roses playing inside their heads now?)
Here are the dragons, for those who haven't seen them yet. They'll be about the side as the Maglor pin. The red will be slightly darker and richer than pictured here.
So many Etsy orders! I'm about half-way to the break-even point with the pins already. Wow. <3 It's great when a previous batch can immediately fund the next.

Ahh, I'd so love to go to a Tolkien con and meet you! Perhaps someday in the near future. Yes, I'm a huge fan. Now I'll be listening to November Rain (again). I've been wanting to place an order, but I'm going to wait it out a little more (currently waiting to get my tax return :P).
