(1.13) Early Access week 1

Hey guys! This week we released the Early Access version of Female Agent 1.13. The feedback has generally been very positive, so I’m excited for the general release on Tue 28 Sep.

We’ll be polishing and improving it in the meantime. So far we’ve fixed some bugs reported by users, and we’ve added a cool new feature: the avatar’s hair and skin now gets wet in shower/pool scenes.

This week I’ve started detailed story planning for version 1.14 (coming Soon™). As noted in a couple of previous dev reports, rewrites delayed both 1.12 and 1.13. Essentially, in both cases I just started writing out the scenes I had in my head. The final scenes ended up being very different.

This time, I’m trying to do a better job on story planning - thinking through the scenario before writing it, anticipating problems, generating alternatives.

So far…this feels like a greta technique. I generated two alternative ways to make the same story event happen, and the second alternative is way way hotter than the original idea.

I feel kind of like how I felt when I stumbled onto the “correct” versions of the scenes in 1.12 and 1.13: really excited about writing them and playing them with my agent. 

The difference is that I’ve reached that point much more quickly than the last two times. Turns out thinking is faster than writing…who knew?

Additionally, this week I discovered that several questions have been sent via the FAQ page on the game’s website. Sincere apologies to the askers – I didn’t see them until this week. 😬 However, there are now answers to the following user-submitted questions:

I do like that darker stuff, but I do think there should be the option to do things different ways, sometimes for replayability and wider player reach. I think ultimatly that will happen and the game is still early in development, im sure these inconsistancies will be fixed. eventually.

Re pledged to check out the new version. A lot to like in that the story actually progressed somewhere unlike the past year or two of development. The Bangkok section was a little choice lite. I also don't like that to infiltrate you pretty much need to accept being raped. I get that a big appeal for many people is for the heroine to be humiliated and corrupted. However, personally I like when the heroine is a femme Fatale who isn't afraid to own her sexuality. It's pretty predictable the recruiter would try to have sex with her so a few passages of her knowing this ahead of time and controlling the situation would be nice imo. Also I find it interesting that you can choose what to wear and go commando the whole time but then there's a scene where you take off your panties and it's some new thrill. Big contradiction there.

I won't lie, the previous versions of the game were far more kinky too! I mean, the Scotland part, clubbing and entering that contest, all great stuff! Just seems a bit tame? now.

I have expected there to be a main story line, with lots of flavors and sub plots. The character generation sheet seemed to be the mechanism that would change the flavoring and open or close sub plots. Without finishing the character generation and skipping ahead I'm not sure there is a way to fill out the details beyond the main plot's choices. I'm still waiting to see the latest release but, I've been a bit concerned with how everything will eventually get tied back together for a while now.

The appeal of the game was always going to be the freedom to make choices that could screw us or help us. So far the only thing we use dice roll for its sexual encounters, to tell us “you sucked him off this well.” I currently see no point to the current system, it’s practically a visual novel, nowhere close to an rpg. I think this is illustrated in not allowing us to apply to be a bar maid from the start. This profession wouldn’t even be available unless you were planning on having us play as that later, but you take away our freedom, the value of a role playing game by making us adhere to your story. So I hope in the upcoming parts, you give us meaningful choice.

i am sorry to say, but all new releases are big disapointment. game became very linear with very few content. i thought the idea was that heroines choices would lead to different situations and story endings, but for now there is just 1 right option of acting wich can lead to interesting scenes. all others lead nowhere. is it realy a good idea? it soudns boring. and it is very sad that you stoped developing heroines early years, it was realy fun and there was hope all choices from her teenhood would have effect on her life and so wanted top know the continue of her relations with friends...and now you just cut all that content out. why there is no idea of connecting this 2 parts of game? at first this game looked very fun and promising. but now i just cant get it, what kind of game you are trying to make.

Yes, you know, I also noticed that I think faster than I create or write something, just like you))
