Doberman Head Progress

This project has been an interesting one to say the least. I started this project as an idea to create a slimmer fitting light head. I love dobermans so wanted to see how this species would translate with the ideas in mind.

The head is printed in parts so the bottom and upper jaw areas can be flocked. I plan to flock the nose as well which is printed separate as well. Doing it in parts makes it a lot easier to clean it up as well. I will flock the areas and then piece the parts together glueing them with 3D gloop.

Tops of the ears are printed tin TPU which is flexible and pretty light. I print with a low infill and one wall making the ears bend a bit. I am only doing this on the tops just in case the ears get hit with something hard. I don't do the whole ear because of the lack of supports when I print TPU. Same reason I won't print a whole head in TPU, expensive and not possible the way I am currently printing them.

These heads are around 9 inches wide making them a bit smaller. My typical fursuit heads tend to be 11 inches wide from cheek to cheek.

Will continue posting progress on this project to show how it is coming along.

These will eventually be for sale, they require quite a bit more set up compared to some of the other heads so I will be doing these in limited batches. More than likely all these will be sold with eyes already pre installed.

Still working on the teeth, need to print a few  of them, sand and create silicone molds to cast in resin.
