Since flexible filaments are very picky on how you print them I need to think about the best ways to do so. TPU does not play nice with supports so I need to think about the structures I’m printing. Ears are a great example, but a lot of my ears have heavy curves where I connect them to the head. So I wanted to test and see how much of the ear can be printed in TPU without making my printer have a heart attack. I’m thinking of printing the ears either from the red up or blue layers up. I will test both to see what’s the easiest, lightest way to print yet still being durable. The main stump where the ear starts will be part of the head base out of PLA Pro, but the rest TPU. I love TPU but it has a lot of limitations which is why you don’t see me making a whole head with it. I’ll be printing these ears with very low infill but will still have the walls up so it’s durable with bounce.
