Started working on a new head base that will be used with my 3D eyes (currently using Nuke creations 3D casted eyes on the heads you currently see on Mixedcandy). The old 3D eyed canine mold has been retired since it is no longer usable so this gave me a chance to work on a new one. The original one was made out of clay ages ago and had some symmetry issues. Now that I can do my sculpts in Zbrush making symmetry issues a thing of the past.

Going to create two versions of this head, one I can cast in foam and another I can use straight from the printer. The one casted in foam will be heavily simplified in areas as I won't be able to get as much detail as I would with the hard base one. The hard base one will be attached onto a foam shell/balaclava so it is as comfy to wear as a regular foam head. Being able to do both versions allows me to test new looks and techniques. With the hard version I will be able to do hollow noses you can breathe out of or see if you really wanted, cleaner eyelids/eyeliner and so on. The 3D eyes for these heads are done specifically to fit this base.

I want to be able to do a few nose types that can easily be printed or casted to have a variety of looks. Trying to make this base easy to customize so they don't all suffer from a same face syndrome.

I will be working on a jaws that fits this head specifically. Both upper and lower teeth. The eyeliner is something I have wanted to try since I love the look but always seem restricted to using felt. I want to print the eyeliner and flock it. it will give me the feel and look I want while still being more 3D and "less flat".

Going to work on different eyelids to have a few "looks" with this base. I personally do not like the removable eye lid trend that is popular as most of the eye lids seem glued on/flat or not really integrated. So as a personal preference I am going to work on a more seamless look for the eye lids. Granted these will not be removable eyelids but I will be able to print the head with a few looks and can see what works best based on the character I am wanting to make.
Once this base is ready I will be working on a prototype and going over the process and showing all the parts made for this.
