*Unedited* First Time Watching TWD 4x1

Hi Dylan! it's a theme on the Patreon that I don't trust ANYONE haha I played some of TWD game before starting the show and the game is FULL of betrayal and horrible things happening so I def contribute a lot of my distrust to that! I think being wary is the safest way to stay alive (at any point in the show!) Also please remember this is my first time ever watching this show so someone who may be your favorite character, is someone completely new to me who I haven't met or learned about yet! I'm not distrustful based off of how people look, but based off of how little I know about them or if they seem to be hiding something! IE, the woman in 4x1 seemed to be hiding something and was not fully answering Rick's questions! That automatically told me that she was hiding something and made me distrust her! (She also came out of nowhere at coinvent timing, which made me feel like she might have been watching/following Rick!) There's a method behind my wary madness hehe <3 Hopefully I explained that well!

I don't really understand why you're so weirded out by them taking in new people. One of the main themes of Season 3 was Rick and the group's struggle with trusting new people and overcoming that fear. You saw it when they met those prisoners, with Michonne, with Merle, when Tyreese and his group entered the prison. There are obviously more examples, but I'm not going to list them all. Anyway, you see Rick and the group overcome that fear at the end of Season 3 when they bring back all those people from Woodbury and let them join. Another theme of Season 3 is the whole thing about losing yourself and who you are in the apocalypse, and being able to come back from it. You see it with Rick going crazy after losing Lori, and you see it with Morgan. This carries into Season 4, with the woman Rick met in the woods. Firstly, I don't fully understand why you're so distrustful of her because of the way she looks. She looks like someone who is struggling to survive in the wilds. Anyway. She's talking about the things that she has had to do to survive, and how she isn't proud of them but hopes to come back from them. She kept the head of her undead husband because she couldn't do things on her own, and she stabbed herself because she felt like she couldn't come back from those things. Rick didn't kill her because he saw himself in that woman. He almost turned out exactly like her; the only reason he didn't is that he had people. He also hopes that people can come back, and that hope died a little when that woman stabbed herself and said they can't.

To answer ur confusion, Standing on Business Rick has "retired" and basically wants to set an example for Carl since he was turning cold. Many fans including myself call this the Farmer Rick era lol
